although, id actually rather have a Liqa Sto', instead of a bar. they dont sell 40's in bars.

Personally they should just eliminate the bar tab altogether, I think I've seen it used all of twice since I started playing in November. If you were to get out of your ship and go into a bar situation inside the station then I could see it being used to get missions or meet in secret with pirates about raiding traders and such, but as it is now it has no real fuction at all other then a chat channel and everyone just uses personal messages or the sector channel.

I think bars would be a good place to stick regulated betting by players on duels within the system. Basically, when a duel is challenged, a notification appears in station bars, players there put money into a system pot, and the pot is split proportionally among all winners (based on how much money they bet)

would you have to actively be in the station and in the bar tab to get the notification that the duel was happening, and would it have to be in monitored space for that station to even know it was happening? I still don't see the need even it that were implemented for the "bar" tab to exist.

So...were talking about REMOVING features due to disuse, though they don't have any negative impact???

so if your in the bar tab you have a chat window and a real window to the outside? Is that what you ment FM?

I think the Bar Tab is currently useless, however it has a great potential to have many features to add to the game experience. A while back Crippled Pigeon posted the idea of having an "Entertainment Tab". I thought this was a great idea, but the Bar Tab is pretty much an open territory for such things.

CP had the idea of streaming footage of duels in progress. like watching a boxing match in a Pub. Televising races could also be like televising the duels. I also added the ideas for having table games in the bar for people to play, but these ideas weren't really accepted at the time, they might be more accepted now. Betting on Races and Duels is also an option.

... I use the bar. Mostly for roleplay purposes, but I use it quite often.

On the topic of "coffee houses and cafes"... I may open up the Makchuga at some point in the near future... stay tuned. ;)

I also use the bar fairly often. Almost every the time I'm docked & there's anyone else in the station.
