I have all graphics turned on high and was wondering if anyone knew why when I’m at distance from a station or cap ship, there are what I can only describe as black lines that run the length of the object as i approach or move away. They stop when I get close to the large object. The lines move across the object almost causing a "blinking" effect. Any ideas?

Hard to say, as there are so many variables. Have you tried changing the video driver under ESC/Options?

What OS and video card are you using?

Do you have the most recent driver for your video card?
