hmm... more ALSA issues (choppy video, not crackiness)

well, I finally used http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml to get ALSA working on my machine (intel8x0 for onboard i845), only to have an odd issue with the vendetta ALSA driver.

My audio plays seamlessly, but my video is very choppy.. low ping times, low CPU load. If I change back to the OSS driver, everything works fine, again..

I know there's been issues with cracky audio with the ALSA driver and the intel8x0 module, but I just wanted to chime in and point this type of problem out, too..

okay, got it working fine now :D

to clarify a1k0n's post at http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/6/6027#77580 ; I googled asound.conf, and came up with: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-18522.html ..I copied the example in the third post, and now my problems are solved..

((can a mod edit the title to say [RESOLVED] ?))

I want to submit also that these ALSA values elimited the crackiness I previously experienced with the intel8x0 driver. Worth a look if you are having cracky sound problems.
