modifying resolution

May 10, 2005 LaMas link
Is there a way to change resolution in VO without modifying the XF86Config (which just contains a line for a res I don't like as it is way too high)? Windowed mode doesn't work.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean have a higher resolution for Vendetta than for your window manager? Otherwise the options in Vendetta should list all of the available resolutions below what you use on the desktop.

Maybe changing the xres and yres lines in ~/.vendetta/config.ini is what you want.

And windowed mode works for me. I have a nvidia card, what do you have?

This is currently not possible unless you somehow disable the XF86VidMode extension. I'll need to add an option which allows you to disable it in ~/.vendetta/config.ini. I shall call it xf86vidmode, and in the next release you will be able to set it to 0 to disable this behavior and have Vendetta only use Window Mode in the three default resolutions: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768.

Oh, and if you want to play full screen at a different resolution then you definitely need to modify your XF86Config.
