Fedora Update and Vendetta wont run.

Jun 12, 2005 daeamarth link
Just thought I would post this if it has not been. A new update to SE linux policies blocks the running of Vendetta and other games with /home libs.

chcon -R system_u:object_r:lib_t /home/foo/.vendetta/drivers

Where "foo" is your user name should get it running. Maybe not best method but works.

Hope this helps.

Wow ... won't this policy block every other application that allows the user to install plugins in the homedir, too?

Blender and mozilla/firefox come to mind. O.o

It should not. I am having no issues whatsoever with flash, java or the like on browsers. Blender I have not used in months (books still dusty for a hobby) so cant help you there. It has only been programs that have actual drivers or normally "system" libs in the users home dir.

This IMHO is not an application issue nor really a fedora/SE linux issue. Its merely too strict of security measures being implemented or the stance those libs etc should not be in home dirs. Personally Id rather tighter security than looser but thats my opinion.

I am no SE expert though so take that all with a grain of salt and add in I work in an environment where security is of absolute (read in job or no job) importance.

In anycase, that worked for me for my game station and thought I would post it for others to use if they like. Nothing more... nothing less.
