Just a quick note on installation problems with Ubuntu Fiesty

May 29, 2007 lachild link
Hey,

Just wanted to report a quick problem I ran into installing on Ubuntu Feisty.

When I ran the installer the installer was unable to create a directory ~/bin. I got around this by simply creating the directory myself.

What happened next was the installer installed fine, except that it didn't stop at all for user input, as there was a couple of Yes/No questions that it asked. Again no real problem as the questions we're just informative and not config issues.

After that the games been working well, and I can't believe the 3d rendering is working correctly with my stupid ATI card. I say this because nothing else I've tried has worked on this POS video card.

Just wanted to let you know for future reference.

Yeah, sounds like the same problem here:

Thought I had an updated installer that fixed it but I guess not...

Ya'. I had to create a /bin in my home dir, but the worst part came when I foolishly installed using sudo!
chown on the executable
chown -hR fixed .vendetta

Works like a charm, even with my graphics cranked!
Now all I need to do is figure out which joystick to use...
