Is there a chance to have amd64 version of vendetta ?
I can currently run x86 version however only in unaccelerated mode it does not make as much fun as full hw acceleration

There was a post some time saying that not any time soon...they don't have an amd64 to develop on.

I'm assuming, that as x86-64 gets more popular (i'd say about 90% of pc manufacturers in the uk base their high end boxes on a64 and a64fx), this is going to be increasingly requested. Im just thinking, perhaps AMD would be willing to "loan" you guys some hardware in the interests of maybe a "Works with Athlon64!" logo or something.

Well, its a longshot, but you never know!

If AMD thinks this game has potential and generally runs faster on A64s rather than Intels, then they'd probably 'lend' guild 1 or 2 A64 based machines to develop on.

It would be great for AMD to get a couple games with 'Works Great on A64' labels all over them... and awesome for guild to get some free comps :P

I would also like to see 64-bit version for Athlon 64. It would be no problem for me to help it test.

Isn't making an A64 version just a matter of flipping an option in the compiler?

From what I understand, they'd have to make a whole new binary which linked against the 64-bit versions of glibc and opengl and all that. And since they don't have a 64-bit machine to link against...

Guild might also consider putting up a PayPal donate button or soemthing. "Donate to our AMD 64 fund" =P I'd donate to that.

Just a thought.

Im willing to offer full access to my system if it would help bring me an x86_64 native version of vendetta, bout the only thing i wont do is ship you my box, although being relativly close, i might be able to make a road trip one of these days.

You'd probably find that your average AMD 64bit chip runs 32bit software faster than your normal 32bit chips. Nothing to really worry about unless you're having performance issues (which I doubt you would).
