have you tried it a few times? The updateserver could have been down.

check if you haven't blocked the port... or did sth else with your firewall (if exist)

check your dns settings ... I get sth like this when my local dns cache (pdnsd) craps out ... or maybe your isps dns was down

thats what i can think of right now ... can you ping the server?

The update servers are working, I just checked.

You don't need to open any ports on your computer, you just need to be able to contact our servers. Can you telnet to both vroomfondel.guildsoftware.com and majikthise.guildsoftware.com on port 21024?

If not, it's either an internet routing issue (which seems unlikely, since you're using our webpage...) or a firewall issue. I suggest you should check your firewall logs after an unsuccessful attempt to contact the update servers.

are there a server on a ftp port for the game ?

or a direct download possibility ?

Yes, you seem to have a very restrictive firewall which isn't logging anything. Your DNS is working fine.

Apparently there's a difference in firewall setups between Mandrake 10 Community and Mandrake 10 Final (I am totally unfamiliar with Mandrake, however). But I'm pretty sure you have to fix your firewall in order to get the game to work.

There's no other way to download the game other than with the updater.

but the problem is the same after disabling the mdk10 firewall

the system is MDK10.Official

Ok it's working now,

this is a problem of the adsl modem, changed the modem and all is working fine !

without changing the firewall rules

argh !

thanks for help ;)
