Whenever I try to start the program, i get this saying

I'm looking into this.
All I can do right now is to add more log info in hopes of tracking down exactly where the video mode is failing. |

Heh, allow me to help some. 8)
Double check that
a. the person executing vendetta is the same person that owns the X session
b. that your pam perms arent all screwy and you can indeed open a window on demand
