VR Updates for Oculus and Daydream

Earlier this year we launched support for the Oculus Go VR headset, as well as newer Daydream VR devices. We've also recently added new custom text-to-speech for select VR platforms that have no other alternative (like the Oculus Go). In VR it's a huge help to have the system "read" your mission updates aloud to you, instead of having to read them visually. If you have an Oculus Go or GearVR device, you can find the game here.

Support for additional VR platforms is also in the works, but if you're currently looking for a wireless VR solution for Vendetta Online, an Oculus Go with a full-sized bluetooth game controller (such as a SteelSeries XL) is worth a look.

Pirate gameplay and NPC liveries

Beware of the NPC Pirate Clans roving through grayspace! Small, vicious groups of fighters occasionally appear in grayspace sectors, doing damage to any who cross their path. If wounded, they will flee back to their Pirate Capship in another sector, and may be followed there to attack their base. Pirate Tridents may drop valuable capital ship components, as well as other items.

On a related note, NPC Pirates and Military vessels now both have related livery paint on the hulls of their ships.

Official Discord server

Vendetta Online now has an official Discord Server. Come check it out, and tell your friends to go to:

discord.gg/vendetta

The official server also includes an in-game chat gateway, to channel 100, which may be viewed publicly. Those wishing to also write to in-game chat must request approval by the Discord administrators, via a thread on the Vendetta Online forum.

Major new technology development in the works

We've been working on some major game engine changes for much of 2018, and we expect those to begin appearing in the near future. These updates should allow us to add more complex enhancements to the game, while improving performance on both your device, as well as the server. Stay tuned for further announcements.

Other Recent Updates

There have been a lot of updates, this is only a few highlights:

• An issue relating to mouse usage on systems with high-DPI mice has been improved.
• Many improvements to Key Management (keys are sorted, colored, etc).
• New option to show player Guild tags in chat. Disabled by default.
• Many improvements to Android gamepads and Windows flight-stick support.
• Increased capship turret firing arc to 180 degrees side to side.
• Integrated ClickCommander plugin and named it MultiClick.
• Integrated WeaponSafe plugin as a command called "/weaponsafe".
• Integrated the Multi-Aim plugin, allowing up to 5 lead-off reticles.
• Integrated the Trigger Colors plugin. It is disabled by default.
• Increased maximum number of Guild Lieutenants to 5.
• Locust Swarm trails are now red, Capship Swarm turret trails are now green.
• Some changes to mitigate "spotter" bot activity in the galaxy.
• Duplicate-reconnection "escape" exploits during mid-jump have been mitigated.

You can install the game client for Android, iPhone and iPad, Samsung GearVR and Oculus Go, Google Daydream VR, as well as find the game on the Mac Store. Or, you can directly download the game installation for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
