Probably because none of us with jobs in the real world are eager to tie our identities to a character here, given the nuts that inhabit VO.
Can you imagine the fallout from some disaffected Sigma member deciding to email your managing partner or your HR division about some largely imagined online dispute? And don't tell me these are the sort of well balanced souls that would never do such a thing; laughing that much would hurt my sides a lot.

It probably depends on the company you work at. If they are of the opinion that computer games are inherently three-headed monsters that bite off our childrens' pinkies when they sleep, they might object.

It's a neat idea, since you can tie the pilot to a face and some basic attributes, but it's just not worth the potential hassle.
