Sorry if i'm in the wrong board, but how would i go, installing DirectX8.1, or even, finding it, while 9.0a's on the system? D:!

euhm, you dont have to install direct x 8.1, if directx9.0b is installed, everything before is supported

so in short,

if a game needs directx6, and you install directx8.1, it will work at least as good as directx6 and maybe even better "rather definately better ;)"

ah, nevermind. i changed a wrong setting and had to reinstall windows xp all over again :D thanks anyway

Also, i had warcraft III buggering me about Direct X 8.1 or newer was not installed, then when i clicked options and clicked install direct x 8.1, it said a newer version of direct x was already installed.

Banged my head for a minute, i really did want to play the expansion pack that i got for it yesterday.

Then i installled newer drivers for my graphic card.

Works. =)

Moral of the story, warcraft III with the expansion pack is a fun game.
