3.3 Delay/Short Term Updates

Jul 10, 2003 Phaserlight link
Take all the time you need, devs. This game absolutely ROCKS so far and I wouldn't want it to lose its rockingness by being rushed into production.

When I played asteroid games like Maelstrom I always thought "Man, it would be really cool if they made a space-RPG game where you could trade and fight off pirates and buy bigger ships and go on missions." Enter Escape Velocity. After playing Escape Velocity I always thought "Man, it would be awesome if someone took this concept and made it 3D and in a persistent, multiplayer universe." Vendetta is that game! (And much more if half the stuff the devs hint at make it into the final version)

As for short term updates: "Other minor gameplay changes may happen in the short term, however. Weapon / economy / sector changes, and the like. Stay tuned."

w00000tage!

Dynamic economy? Balanced energy weapons?

Hey devs, where are you gonna go once you open sector 22 to the public? I don't think you could refrain from death if you had to work in sector 0 any longer...

StarFreeze spits out Phaserlight and walks off...

About 22 later on they prolly will be normal sectors or not...who knows... I think it would be stupid to have 22-26 completely closed off. :)

Phaserlight gets up and wipes himself off in disgust.

...Pulls out his bazooka and launches a Search-And-Destroy-Starfreeze Missile.

Major_Rager belches, thus dragging the thread even further off topic.
Man that dynamic economy will be sweet. Trade routes will always be shifting! Pirates will have a harder time.

tsss, We traders will have a worse time.

Me thinks about buying things in a certain place and then selling them for loss in another sector. You constantly need to find other sectors to sell some things to. This will make my job a lot more difficult, and I really liked it being able to trade for a short time and amass a nice little fortune :D.

But on the other hand, I hate pirates. They get their cargo for to easilly :(

But we will see what time brings

cheers

I've experienced several times that i just did a really cool action-filled-getting-pirated-but-escapes-and-w00t-pay trading run (where a part of the exitement is: die, and loose it all) - in the dock one unload and sells, checks the credit value, and find that someone capped, and the trade-run was practicly unessesary...

1 million = 25 fully equiped marauders/valks or prommys (if weapons are not the really big ones)...

I was doing some "lowlevel" trading with a new char, to see how profitable that could be... Had a family issue, causing me to be afk for approx. half an hour. When i returned to the game 4 caps had been polled - Which in pratice means that, that character doesnt have to trade... For a looong while...

This can't be the idea...

/me ducks and runs in a funny looking evasive way to avoid the debrie of things thrown after him =)

EDIT: ofcause it's cool capmoney for those only interested in capping, but it totally wrecks credit balance causing bored players to be even more bored cause the lack of trading needs (Did any1 notice the explotion in new pirates)

Dude. for traders, its simple: Diversify your goods... yo!
