Will the test continue after Retail release?

Will the test be available after the Retail comes out? Just leave it at the last version?

This game is fun, even as a test. I dont think i will be able to pay for a subscription game.... and i will miss vendetta.

This is just a test for the engine that will drive the final game. Think of it as the foundation for a house. Bigger and better things lie in the future.

Yeah, but the devs have got to play on their 2.8.3 server with SOMEBODY...

One of the biggest points of the public beta as it stands now is to test network traffic under "real world" situations. They're not only trying to fix bugs and get suggestions, but to also test the network code and see how much it can handle. It wouldn't take a huge crowd to beta test each sector for bugs and the like, so technically they could do that alone. Since they probably don't want to give away everything from the final game before it's released, they'll probably have a final version and a beta version working side by side, keeping us primarily for further bug reports and balance suggestions, albeit with a limited number of features that we won't ever get to see as testers. Maybe? I'm looking at this optimistically.

Another possibility is that they could end the free public beta testing completely when they feel that they've got enough out of us. Or maybe they'll eventually reach a final solid beta release and keep the server running to keep us occupied while they work on adding the final features and whatnot, with no more weekly updates. Of course you'll have to question whether they could afford that for long. Heck, I'm not even sure that the devs even know how they'll handle it. I asked the same question before but didn't get any official response. Your guess is probably as good as mine.

I want them to give us a tester's client, it would be able to connect to either retail server or test sever, to you know, test stuff.
