Is it possible to run Vendetta on FreeBSD?
I can't even seem to start the installer.
(vendetta: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libgtk-1.2.so.0: ELF file OS ABI invalid)

Are you trying to run it under the Linux ABI emulator?
If not, I suggest you try that...if so, then I dunno what's happening.

I've heard the Linux emulation works well for a lot of things, but I have no idea whether Vendetta will work. Vendetta is not supported on FreeBSD.

Clearly, we like FreeBSD (it's our choice of server OS), it just isn't a very common client OS. Especially compared to say.. Linux. That, and maintaining another port of the game is a big hassle.

Well, could you make the Linux version BSD-friendly (by giving it a cursory run under the ABI emulation) ?

Is it PPC BSD? It should run fine on that... :P
