plant's swamp

closer look, joystick for rolling, strafing, movement and primary fire, keyboard for forward/backward, seconday fire, target selection, etc...

I have a gaming keyboard and i can adjust key repetition speed and switch key positions on the fly, no OS tweaking required, a must for a hardcore gamer imho

I had a gaming mouse too, Logitech G9, but i broke it a few weeks ago :(

Joystick is only for VO, i prefer keyb/mouse or gamepad for rest of games

book on the right side is for elbow rest while fighting xD, i have improved my PK ratio since i began using it

and, of course, all my computers run under linux

You are all cool, but I am old school, get me any computer with a keyboard and I will be fine!

You build a time machine, go back and buy an original boxed Vendetta-Online ;)

Or ebay.

Ebay works too. You get a month-code with it too, and a printed backstory. :p

EDIT: ninja edit by drazed. :(

Best part about it is the bezel on the front of the box.

its definitely the nicest game box i own, all the other stuff I have is ugly plastic crap in comparison to the vo box.

If vo every gets another physical release its gonna need some holograms that would be fucking sweet.

holy shit a gamebox with a colored hologram would be just so awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZiEAvOdty4

I used to have one of those posters from when I bought the box back in 2004 or thereabouts... don't know what happened to it.

Just nabbed another copy on amazon for like $6 after shipping. Including month code, it's a pretty slick deal... one to entice your friends into buying the game with.

Back on topic, I originally used 2x Cyborg EVOs, however they broke due to abusive handling a while back... one of them is just missing a couple buttons, so I'm still using it as a left stick. Tried getting a Cyborg X to replace it, but that didn't go well... drivers bluescreened my comp constantly. Took a tip from this thread and traded it in for an X52, so now I'm rocking with that. Hope to find a decently-priced replacement for my Cyborg EVO at some point in the future though. Those missing buttons are annoying.

Some of my guildies inquired about my command and joystick configuration, so here it is if anyone is interested in seeing/using it:

I just ordered the box game off of Amazon, $1.99 + $3.99 shipping. So, they are still available if anyone wants to pick one up.

I have a Thinkpad. I won't bother with a picture because it looks pretty much like every other Thinkpad made in the past 5 years. It has a Trackpoint. I play VO with that, which not only provides joystick-like control, but lets me reach every key on the keyboard. In theory, it might be nice to have analog control over strafes, but it's actually pretty rare that I don't want the maximum possible thrust.
