I was there, I hit nothing, but had a blast. Hope all come on Saturday. Damn I'm logged on as wrong char. Actually it was Sally Ride that was there, had a blast and hit nothing. I don't want Vader to get a rep as a wimp.... :-)

This week had only 4 players, and the run was only half as long as the last. So that means I only survived 5 minutes, unlike ten minutes the last time. zamzx GOLD mined a billboard that I never flew through. The two that were closest behind me were UncleDave and Defense Ship 4 (SirCamps). UncleDave dealed the most damage.

THE WINNER: SirCamps

SHIP STATS:
SirCamps - Standard Rocket Valkyrie
UncleDave - Standard Rocket Valkyrie

This is the first bounty chase to have gone across sectors, and it lasted up to 35 minutes. It all started in sector 10, but no one was chasing me even after I traveled to sector 5. Wilo spotted me, but I quickly went all the way back to sector 11 still with no players behind me.

Going to sector 10, many have found my location out and chased my ship viscously. There was no other option but to cross sector 7 and arrive in the overpopulated sector with TGP Corp in the center. Hit by the edge of a tri rocket, I was pressured by mind into hesitation, planning to get to sector 17.

No extra hits were made until I was scattering around in sector 17. Boing! and /^\ were behind me from this point and on. The purple ships of sector 17 could not do anything to destroy these two. Locked down by two standard rocket valkyries, I struggled to warp to sector 11.

Finding out it wasn't hard at all, being afraid of the now orange hull percentage, I warped to sector 11. There came more players, hungry for my bounty. Blaster and Dark Katarn became part of the group that was always behind me. Dodge maneuver after dodge maneuver, my ship trailed along the shattered ring of sector 11. But only forming a quater circle, I went to the mostly unused sector 13.

My plan to go from one end of the asteroid line of sector 13 to the other end failed as most of the chasers were making that asteroid filled path dangerous. However, I still made it from one end of the asteroid line into the hollow asteroid of sector 10, which spaced the chasers from my ship, giving myself some breathing room. Upon leaving the hollow asteroid, I became conscious of my HUD enough to look at what the orange percentage was. This said percentage was 22%.

Minutes have passed and no extra hits were made. From within sector 5, I managed to fly around sector 13 warp, tricking half the chasers into warping to 13. I hovered to sector 9 warp and tried to deceive the remaining chasers, but they wouldn't budge, leaving me to decide to warp into 9.

Uneasy with the situation, I made no decision to stay in sector 9, fleeing to sector 7. My fleeing did not stop; I went to sector 10 immediately, making no fancy dodges. There, in sector 10, came all the dodge maneuvers which the past minutes lacked. After Blaster hit me with a single rail, these dodge maneuvers improved, disallowing a second rail to hit even after being in nearly close proximity.

Making no progress with the path that leads to sector 11 from sector 7 warp, I chose to get back into 7. Before I could travel 2000m away from sector 10 warp within sector 7, Hoax hit me with his devastating dual rail. My ship instantly exploded, keeping me from knowing whether he hit me with one rail or both. That concludes the Third Bounty Chase Event.

THE WINNER: Hoax

ROUTE: 10 - 11 - 13 - 5 - 13 - 11 - 10 - 7 - 9 - 11 - 17 - 11 - 13 - 5 - 9 - 7 - 10 - 7

Yes! Hoax wins with the lazy wormhole camp! See what all that moving around and doing stuff gets you? That's right nothing...

Seriously this is a really fun thing you've got going here FiReMaGe, it was a very exciting chase. On gold it was a cross between teamwork and everyman for himself which was fun too.

I chased you around and on into 7 but had to jump up to get the door, when I came back you were gone and I figured I'd lost you. I raced across the sector and jumped into 10 to look for you and saw you jumping into 7 just as I was coming into 10. Doh! So I waited about an hour and a half for my heavy battery to recharge and then jumped back. Luckily you were almost in range so I quick charged and got off a couple rail shots. I'm not sure but I think that the first one to hit killed you.

More!

This was fun...maybe after the reset we'll do a big big event hehee

Hehe, Hoax. Actually, I forgot to mention Dark Katarn stopped following me once I left sector 11 after leaving sector 17. He camped in sector 17, waiting... and I never came back (I didn't even know he was doing that until you got my bounty). Oh well, maybe it's because he chose an unlikely sector. To get to sector 17 in the chase, I have to travel around 12000 meters and also get my self aligned myself at one point... all while dodging rockets and rails.

a suggestion:
spectator mode for special events.
Oct 07, 2003 FiReMaGe link
This isn't really a special event (to the game engine's perspective). This is considering the game doesn't know this is a special event because the only things it takes to run this event is: 1) Have a huge vendetta bounty (not money, but the real bounty thing) and 2) Be on the robot nation.

You can press F2 a couple times to get a camera mode that will have you lose flight control of your ship and have your flight controls control an external camera that moves very slow.

Your idea would be a good one if, first, everything in spectator mode is what happened 5 minutes ago (Like Half-Life TV) [EDIT: Hmm, that 5 minutes ago thing might take too much server power. But I think it's a good anti-spy thing]. And then a bunch of other anti-spy things... but let's not discuss this here. You should post this in the suggestions section:

That external camera moves faster if you turn off the hud.

I had FM just that... I didn't have energy... 100 energy isn't enough to fire a rail ><

I would go, but I have to take my g/f to homecoming that night.
