What is this even about?
He left out this part:
"This event has the purpose of increasing our players base and letting people know what we have to offer.

This is interesting, given our recent discussions about free advertising. How does it look to us? Do we want to be seen this way?
I deleted his post to avoid giving him credit. He did it wrong anyway, failing to include the images and links.

I don't personally see it as being an issue, if it's done in the proper manner. This means not posting such advertisements in the wrong forum. He posted it in the forum for discussion about VO. On the VO fourms, such an advertisement should have been posted into Off-Topic. Many other game forums have a sub-forum for this type of discussion, and that's where it should be done at.
Interestingly, their forum rules say this:
"10. Advertising.
Punishment:
-Instant Permanent Ban.
- Advertising any other servers, Emails, products, or anything else that is not in our server, scamming sites is extremely prohibited and might lead to a permanent IP ban. Also, advertising our server on other servers is not allowed."

Whistler, I believe that's related to unofficial servers, gold sellers, and bots.
