I just found this game on mobile a few days ago, I noticed it was cross platform, and bought the 1 dollar lite membership.

I've mined a bit, done a few missions, but I can't seem to find any major conflicts going on.

I started as the UIT, and I tried checking to see if their was any violence on the Serco - Itani boarder, and so far, nothing. Do I need to join a guild if I'm to hear about anything?

Get to Combat 3 :} then you can access deneb and skirms. Don't let me catch you doing hives though ;)

The fastest way to get combat levels is through training missions, right?

Combat training, then hive skirmishes.

Just a note that you can get in on a border skirmish even before Combat License 3; you have to be lucky enough to stumble into the right sector. The game distributes information based on license levels but there are very few magical barriers, and there is no place you cannot go due to your license levels.

Also note that if you are in Deneb and destroy one of the turrets found at the center of the asteroid fields you will trigger a fighter skirmish, regardless of your levels.

That being said, it is a good idea to get to Combat License 3 before diving into border or hive skirmishes. Large battles will make a lot more sense if you are on the mission.

Just call on YT-1300. He'll be more than elated to bring action and conflict right to your feet, in UIT space! Liu seems to be in business of bringing action to UIT people as well. Look out for them in 100 and holler at them. Tell them your location.

Axiom, by the way, is a Hive supporter. Joyless/Failure, YT, and Liu are part time murderers.

the circus aside wouldn't it be nice if you actually had some NPCs to call on for battle like a gladiator arena type fight.
