The game I Love
Hey everyone, since there's been a lot of negativity and arguing in the forums lately, I thought I'd start this thread to post a few reasons that I play VO, and give some credit where credit is deserved.
1) Epic PVP - I think is is definitely the place to start. This game has the most thrilling, engaging, difficult, and skill-testing PVP of any MMO, and the system of player interaction the devs have created and continue to support and improve is truly amazing. The other day I was shot down by a particularly skilled player piloting a revenant with a flechette cannon. While it was frustrating, it served as a reminder that while equipment does matter, in the end it boils down to skill, and I love that. PVP always has and continues to to keep me coming back for more.
2) Player defined roles - what makes me a pirate? Only the fact that I say I am, and that I have an awesome group of guild mates to share an immersive and exciting experience with. In the same way players may identify themselves as traders, miners, manufacturers, military, mercenary, an incarnation of the ancient god Ba'al, empress of Blargg, or self proclaimed murderer extraordinaire and Lord of Sedina B8. These roles aren't artificially thrust upon us, it is our creativity as a community that makes them awesome. Other games tell you what you can and can't be. This game lets you decide.
3) Guilds - speaking of guilds, they rock! I love that players are able to come together and work towards a goal or set of goals (or no goal - I'm looking at you, BOAT), and have a great time together as they do it. This aspect exists in other MMOs, but I think it is implemented particularly well here.
4) Plugins - yes, I know they cause problems. There are plugins I wish didn't exist. But the fact that they can even exist is an integral part of what I find attractive in this game. The fact that players can build and contribute to the experience of the game for themselves and others throughout the universe is not found in any other MMO, as far as I know. Plugins make the world go round, and that' s awesome.
...and much much more. There are so many things that make this game awesome and so many reasons why I keep coming back. Hooray VO!

My reason for playing VO:
Murder.
My favorite thing about VO is large scale group pvp. On the rare occasion it happens it's the pinnacle of the VO experience.
only reason i'm playing these days is because i paid 10 bucks to check out the new ship liveries and i'd feel kinda stupid to drop 10 bucks only to log in once for 5 minutes.

Isn't it kind of strange how people can be both SKV and TGFT at the same time?
Duels, furballs, and team PVP like Nation War.
Everything tarenty said plus...

My favorite things are the Suggestions forum and the excitement of getting new content added over time.
The pvp is good, but not why I primarily keep coming back. I do love a good furball though when I'm lucky enough to be on when one is happening. I prefer to be on the weaker side of those though as otherwise I don't get much action being a mediocre pvper.

To say the least,I like almost everything in VO trade and PVP are two big ones!!!
