I learned things.

I spent the last few months pretending to be a newbie.

Ive noticed some trends. Some of them bad. Not all of them bad.

Trade guilds will let anyone in and let them do anything until the time limit is up.
Then you are laid off like an ipad manufacturer in ireland.

Pirate guilds dont really give a ****, but they also have no quality control anymore.
Same pointless bullshit, different order of operations.

The truly old and crusty rarely even care about the game anymore, with the capships there is no reason to.
They are far more overpowered than anyone who would want to touch them. Clans are long dead except trader clans.

That whole server vs itani war is kind of bland, and quite obviously doesnt matter. No one gives a shit about one system way out in the boondocks.

There are some other notices, but those are the ones off the top.

Also, thank you sir for giving me three months. I got to go incognito like a boss.

I suppose you posted this to get comments. So I'll comment on what I believe is worth commenting.

That's not true. The problem is that piracy is no longer as beneficial as it used to be. The veterans who actually fly worthful stuff around will do it in a Trident. And the playerbase isn't big enough to always have a Trident destroyer squad ready. Apart from that, only newbs cross grey who don't have more than 100k...

The truly old and crusty rarely even care about the game anymore, with the capships [...] far more overpowered than anyone

No. The Tridents are not overpowered. If 2-3 people take their time, a Trident can be taken out rather easily. The problem is that there are not enough people who take their time. A playerbase-size problem, again.

That whole server vs itani war [...] No one gives a shit about one system way out in the boondocks.

Right!

Is that the biggest issue? Because if it'll help, I can cross greyspace nore often. I'm the perfect mix of under equipped/unskilled (because I've been playing for 2 weeks) and decently loaded (because I almost exclusivelg do high-payoff mining missions and trading). I'd be a great target, though I doubt I could revive piracy alone.

I've been in-game fairly regularly since the end of December, and while it's certainly annoying to see the occasional trident packed with XCs, I haven't had any shortage of moths to eat. Partly that's because I spend about 2/3s of my time in Serco, Itani, and UIT nationspaces killing traders who think they're safe...but they're out there still. And the number of 'gee, you're worthless to pirate but I'll get some amusement from chasing and killing you' occurrences is up...usually renevants and atlases.

Can't comment on the guilds thing as I've stayed with [CHRN], seems like it's pretty much a deflated version of TGFT and a bunch of new Serco and UIT groups?

Deneb remains Deneb...not for me, but I guess if it gives Joyleenwall something to do, that's good.

Kicking all of its players and disbanding seems a bit drastic.

I'm sorry that I'm such a bad pirate. One day I'll be one of the cool kids.

Don't get me wrong FAMY has many skilled pirates, they just don't play enough.

YT-1300 for instance, you as well Savet, FBP is another good example.

The majority of [FAMY] tags I see are free PKs because they just don't have the experience against a wide range of pilots. It doesn't help that half of the new generation rely on touch screens.

Pirate guilds dont really give a ****, but they also have no quality control anymore.

He hit it right on the head, the reason VOID has had so much success while other pirate crews seems to be fading away is because instead of allowing any joe schmo to play pretend time in pirateland we've gone out of our way to test and retest and retest our fresh recruits as individuals instead as a "One size fits all" as many other crews/guilds have.

It's become increasingly clear as we adapt to the influx of capable pilots and new enemies that our exam is still to easy. We must push the limits of whats considered training into a lifestyle of pilots born from war instead of the adoption of combat.
