Livery?

Feb 03, 2016 abortretryfail link
For all the work you guys put into making the livery system, wouldn't it make sense to release some additional options?

For example the EverSpace livery that some paid 5 bucks for and that never popped up in game. (Unless I oversaw it?)

And who do we congratulate for the win of a free 1 year full sub?

Livery just straight out doesn't work for me. Who cares.

Sounds like a personal problem.

Who cares.

That your livery doesn't work? Not me.

Yes, I'd love to. We are all fully saturated at present. I've been doing 18 hour days as it is, there just isn't any available time. While it might seem like selling Liveries would have a pretty good priority associated, it doesn't really compare with hitting a specific launch date that gives us massive marketing support by companies like FaceBook or Valve (VR stuff).

Still, if we get some free moments, it is on the to-do list.

For example the EverSpace livery that some paid 5 bucks for and that never popped up in game. (Unless I oversaw it?)

This has hit some unforeseen delays due to external factors (not the VR stuff above.. unrelated to us). I am working on it.

No, lecter. Who cares about liveries period.

Shush TRS. If my subscription money is paying for the devs to implement fancy ship paint jobs, I want some fancy ship paint jobs to show for it, dag nabbit! :P

I was so hoping that this game was going to be different. Second day back and I'm getting Big Point reflux.

I'm sorry to hear that. According to a brief look at their Wikipedia article, BigPoint has 800 employees. We have three employees (total). It isn't that we're trying to screw anyone over, but sometimes things happen that are outside our control, and we're doing what we can to figure out how to mitigate it, with limited resources.

BUT FIVE WHOLE $!

I'm going to read between the lines (and assume). The technical difficulty is either a difficulty getting backers details or a legal hurdle tying it to the other game.

Solution: let backersv submit a ticket for the new skin to be applied to their account, agnostically named "Good guy skin" with the understanding that when the problem is rectified, anyone who wasn't a backer that placed a ticket loses the skin and is forced to fly poo brown ships for a month.

Things do happen Incarnate. However when a supplier fails to deliver a purchased product the result is a loss of confidence dy the customer base. The staffing numbers are of little concern to the subscriber.

This game is hella cool. I honestly hope that it really takes off. Big Point has a long history of screwing it's customer base and they have and are paying dearly for it.

Vendetta could easily absorb thousands of disgruntled Battlestar Galactica Online players if it is prepared to do so and I hope it does. But it needs to be prepared. Research, Development, Marketing and Reputation are key.

Your target demographic is begging you to sell them a reliable product. I alone know about 20 folks in my wing in BSGO who would give Vendetta a shot if it were suggested. Imagine if each of them brought ten more after trying it out.

The space nerds of the world want you to succeed!

Well, we haven't been completely silent about it. We mentioned in the December 23rd newsletter that we're still working on it. And that's true.

It all stems from a pretty unusual "help this other unrelated indie Kickstarter and we'll give you a free widget" altruistic situation. I had sorted out a concrete plan for the logistics before we ever did it, but then things changed (unrelated to us), and now I'm trying to work through that.

It's not exactly a standard "supplier failure to deliver product" situation, which is why people are actually being considerably more patient about it (and I appreciate that).

Ok, that makes sense for the Everspace one. Do you guys have any other skins in the works or are they all held up waiting on some outside business deal?

How about some Itani/Serco military liveries, or Corvus-sponsored pirate theme stuff?

or uit trader "get stuffed" livery?

ARF, I already answered that up above. No, we don't, and we're too busy right now. Sure, it'll happen eventually, and not right now.

There should be a default version that prints the guild tag on the ship along with the option also adding a guild logo that guilds could provide using whatever specifications GS needs to GS which could then be sold exclusively to members of that guild.
