Hi guys

I've just set up a live VO voice Channel,
So you can speak live to players anywhere in the world online!

Just follow the link Below!
This is a new channel and the link is only live for 24 hours as a test of demand.
If it proves popular a permanent link can be provided.
Please however keep text chat and live chat clean!

This is an independent channel and has no connection to Vendetta online other than a meeting place for players!
And as a live voice radio link across the world.
Vendetta is not responsible for the use of this channel!

Please use headphones as feedback from some devices can be districting.

There is a thread for discord in the off topic forums. But since we're sharing discord servers, i'll mention that my public [ONE] discord 'server' can be joined by clicking the link on the right hand side of http://www.sercojerk.xyz .

My review below:

ONE, and I believe TRI has their own dedicated Discord channels so far. Jak runs both the exclusive ONE and public ONE Discord channels. Discord is available across both Android and iOS, as well as for the desktop versions of Windows, Linux and OSX. If that wasn't enough, you can run a fully functioning version in a web browser.

In ONE's use of the channel, it's held up pretty well. Discord isn't very resource intensive in terms of bandwidth or CPU power, and the voice quality is above average. Discord can have some issues with certain types of audio hardware, specifically using USB microphones. It discovers and switches to use most new hardware on the fly, but sometimes has trouble with implementation. Maybe I'm a fringe case due to my constantly changing audio setups between a USB H2n, Macbook Pro mic and an Shure mic with an XLR I/O. I also have some non-standard sound drivers installed.

Anyone (as far as I've seen) on a plain old PC with a working microphone and outputs shouldn't have a problem though.

The Discord mobile App: at least on the iPhone its a bit lacking in terms of menu intuitiveness and lacks the auditory alerts from the full version. All versions are constantly being updated, so it's continually a work in progress.

Join these chat channels and talk to us! The VO experience is heightened tenfold with the ability to actually speak to one another. It's what honestly keeps me coming back to VO, and why I stick with [ONE] - we have a lot of laughs. Not only does voice chat free your hands from typing, it allows you to put a voice, sometimes a face and most importantly a personality behind the name! I spoke to Harpo on the Tempest VO Public Discord for about 30 seconds before my computer crashed, it was fun!

These Discord channels have the potential to become the new VO voice lobby. Check it out.

I agree, it does seem like a nice system and worth trying.

Why not gamevox for all platforms ?

Also overwolf seems to work with many platforms and has plugins for other voice apps such as gamevox too.

Discord works for all platforms you big pleb.

If he's a big pleb, does that make us smaller plebs inferior? Or does it actually give us little guys an edge over him? Please respond ASAP, oh master of plebs! I need to know!

Gamevox doesn't run on all platforms. They don't have android or ios apps.

With Discord, you can even run it in your browser, so no download is required.

Discord is great because discord works for all!

To be fair, Discord doesn't work with Windows Phone yet.

Well its still technically in beta... So its probably on the way

As always, feel free to use whatever chat system you prefer..

But just by way of reminder, the integrated voice chat has been working properly on Windows, Linux and Android since December. There have been zero problem reports since that time.

We're working on bringing it back on OS X tonight, if we can. iPad will have to wait until the next major iOS release.

Hi Incarnate,

Do you know I had no idea there was an intergrated voice chat system!!!

I've not found any access to it within the game!
Or any suggestion that one exists.....
I've only seen the standard text style radio comm's, that's why I set up the channel!
Even now you say there is an integrated voice chat system i still don't know how to gain access to it!

Maybe it needs to be advertised more!

With BIG FLASHING LIGTS! 😉

Really? Have you never been into the options menu? Because there is a BIG ASSED BUTTON that says Voice Chat on it there.
Feb 14, 2016 TEMPESTs link
Im glad you knew it was there but I didn't!

It wasn't there last time I played as its a new 'ish feature
So anyone else who's new to the game won't know to look for it.

Its not advertised!
Theres no pop up window to say hey look why not press this button and get connected!

Its hidden away in sub categories and menus!

And you say its a big button its not. Its a small button easily missed
Ive found it now shore, had I known and seen it working.....
I wouldn't have set up a separate channel!

Well, there is value in using alternate channels since VO's integrated voice chat is not currently global. It's only for people who are in your /group or /guild.

It's been integrated since 2008, so almost 8 years?

We can't really default it to "enabled", because it can use a lot of bandwidth unexpectedly for people. But we can probably add it to some sort of interstitial popup, the 3rd or 4th time someone connects to the game, or something like that.

Well Incarnate you in one post made me feel really dumb and stupid and proved my point at the same time! 😜
Lol I dont know what to think of that yet...😵

I'm an Android player and started playing in August last year. After about 30 hours I discovered my tablet was struggling and so I didn't play for a while... Now I've upgraded I'm back but in all those 30 hours I've played I've never been made awear of any integrated voice communication.

I wonder how many other players are drifting though space unaware that it exists!

Your right, there should be a pop up or something!
Telling people!
Voice communication can be one of the biggest selling points for any game. It can offer a completely different experience to a huge number of players!
For some VO is a good game but with active voice communication VO can become something EPIC!

(I'm not saying VO is not already epic, but had I known about this voice communication link before my early opinion of VO would have been different)
