Well you see, this is why we are here, to test.
Not to go la lalalalallalala what a fun game.
Our job is to break the game.

/me wonders where Lemming is going with his post
Dec 03, 2003 Suicidal Lemming link
Your post was concerned about the people playing the "game", not the goals of the devs.

Hmmm, this isn't making any sense. There are still bugs in the game, and I suggested they hold off on the reset until those bugs were ironed out. It even says in the news that if the server is stable they'll go on with the reset. That's a conditional statement. Unfortunately it isn't 100% stable. People are still having lag issues, problems with getting disconnected, etc. But hey whatever, it was just a suggestion. Not like I can hold a gun up to their head and force 'em to do anything. What you're saying just doesn't make sense to me. If anything it's the exact opposite. A little patience couldn't kill you, could it?

They can always reset it again...

hehe,

well its too late now anyway, but i agree with SL here, we're not here to play for our sake, we're here to actually test this thing and report bugs.

Yeah, i'd be pretty pissed if i lost out on two hours trading, but ateotd its just a game, and a beta one at that.

One thing i have noticed, i dont really think this reset is going to effect much. I've been on 40mins, and have amassed enough cash to keep me going without trading for at least a month.

Still going to trade though... must.... break.... dynamic... economy..

Question is, would a stock market crash in vendetta be virtual, or literal =)

Moof, asphy

It can really be counted selfish both ways. Someone could argue that they should hold off on the reset because they wouldn't want to lose inventory. On the other hand another person could just say shut up about it and reset it anyway because we need to test it.... all because they can't wait any longer. Oops!

In conclusion, poop.

ok on this i'll agree with arolte :).

I could deal with some lag and the occasional bug but the crash set everything back by 2 hours that could be a lot of trading. :)

Downloading now. woo...

Post stuff in a minute.
Dec 03, 2003 XenKrs link
i have to take 25 min for this update to download. what does it contain?
Dec 03, 2003 Renegade ++RIP++ link
Ieuw 15 mins to download 6mb :(

I think the server is getting hammered, knowing that I usually have that in less then 1 minute :(

cheers

"This will include a number of client-side fixes, notably that loading will complete before entrance to the sector begins. Server optimizations should further improve "network lag" issues and fix the outstanding bugs. Content changes include adjustments to the sectors that should greatly improve framerates on slower machines.

We will then wait for 24h or so after release, see what new bugs may or may not surface, and if stability is maintained.. shoot for the inventory/monetary/stat Reset on Wednesday"

So far it looks very, very good. We'll see how it does with heavier traffic Wednesday. The launch sequence is a little different, flight mode toggling echos to the chat window, loading seems fast. None of the typical bugs are showing up.

The server looks alot faster. No more waiting hours in wormholes or buybacks.
Reset it! :P (Took a break from work just for Vendetta. Not kiddin)

or, simply go there via s16 and backtrack the route by leaving to 10... then you can make your own personal "roadmap"

Dec 03, 2003 Arolte link
I was getting better performance in the previous release. But at least the lag has been reduced.

flight mode toggling echos to the chat window

was already in the previous release.
