Combat is no longer a priority, clearly.

This update was a mistake, all it did was make tridents too slow to use. Not everyone can be an all-star at combat, enough with the pandering to skill-less players.

Players are punished yet again for the lack of dedication from others.

At the end of the day the only people who support this are players who do not own tridents or use them in combat.

Mostly because the guilds they are in are INACTIVE

The only people who benefit are the worst part of our community, toxic players who are only here to make sure the community shrinks and this game dies.

I LOVE this community. Well let's see if future updates will bring alternatives to the amazing Trident Heavy Powercell. I hope it.

TheRedSpy - Feelin' offended cause ya go into that category? :-) You don't have to be! 'as not meant to be an insult.

Dr. Lecter - I'll be mad when you finally show your face in game again and do something relevant. I promise!

I removed a post and edited a post. All: calling out individuals leads to drama. It is not "telling the truth", but stirring up trouble with no hope of resolution.

I'll try to be as sanguine on this as I can..

1) I do understand that this is a dramatic change, that impacts the usage of capships in negative ways that are sudden and perhaps unexpected. I remain open to feedback on making new powercells that intentionally create reasonable and desired gameplay balance, without un-necessarily impacting multiple classes of ships who happen to be using the same powercell.

2) This change had practically nothing to do with the recent suggestions thread. I skimmed it, I didn't respond, and I chose an implementation that's different from what was requested. Because I had planned this for years. Do you really think it was ever intended that you would use fighter-type FC batteries on a trident? Seriously? Yes, we should have changed things years ago, but I haven't had a lot of spare development resources and almost everything has gone towards contract-development that kept the lights on and the company alive. "Powercells on Tridents" was just not super high on my priority list, compared to making payroll.

Now that we're finally turning the development-ship back towards gameplay changes, things like this are going to happen. Long-planned changes that will ultimately make the game better, but may require some degree of being patient and open to finding a better "designed" solution, instead of "the borderline-exploit everyone had gotten used to".

So, no, this is not because of a few loud whiners, this is because I intended to do this years ago, and I'm finally able to start executing on my goals. And now we have a footing where we can have a selection of actual capship powercells that may have different properties from their fighter-counterparts. I would have liked to have even rolled out some new powercells with the change, but I've been sick as hell for the last week.

I most definitely wanted this to change before I start rolling out new capships. The Goliath will probably have a battery with different properties. I'd like to see more upgrades in general for all capships, and I don't want them mixed in with small-ship powercells in a way that may be very exploitative and challenging to design.

So, instead of the reactionary grumpiness, go ahead and pour your energies into suggesting new capship-class powercells on Suggestions. Obviously, don't just post a clone of the FC, look for a little more justifiable balance.
