Long Term Subscriber Question

Jan 06, 2017 foeripper link
Do we need to do anything to declare ourselves a long-term subscriber? Or do we just do it and at the end of 12 months we earn that status?

Desperate to get your hands on a Goliath, eh? As soon it's out of beta testing (pretty soon), you should be able to use it without LTS status.

That said, when you subscribe, there is a checkbox you can check to promise that you would keep subscribing for at least a year. That instantly gives you the LTS status. Of course though, if you break the promise before the year is up, you lose the LTS status.

As joyless says, you can tick the checkbox with a sub to be recognised as a LTS, or you are autmatically enrolled as LTS if you sub for 12/24 months at once.

(The "Test the Goliath" mission has now disappeared)

The mission is gone? If you leased a golly, do you still have it (for now)?

Nah it is still there. You just gotta wait a bit for it to appear.

In my experience, you don't get the LTS benefits automatically if you sub for 12/24 months. I still had to 'tick the box'.

I'm subbed since 2011... The page still says I'm not eligible :D funny :D .

You should get it automatically if you sub for 12/24 months, even without ticking the box.. that was an inherent part of the design spec. But, it's possible that it wasn't implemented as intended, or that Ray "added" that feature for new subs, but didn't back-propagate it to include people who were already subbed on a 12 or 24-month purchase level. I'll check on that..

We also don't have much of a "grace period" in there right now, for dealing with inevitable billing issues (card expiration dates, billing type changes, etc). So any lapse in the subscription process causes an instant "breach" of the LTS commitment and removal from the system (which is unreasonable). We really need to put in a week or two of grace-period after failure to re-sub, with some automated emails to inform people what they need to do to "stay" LTS. For the moment, we've just been dealing on a case-by-case basis with people who contact us with Support Tickets. We do plan to add these improvements, they just haven't been as high priority as other tasks.

Bladerus, I'm not sure what the situation is with your account, I can ask Ray. There were a couple of brief historical billing bounces due to expiration dates at one time or another, and possibly that caused you to be "removed" from the LTS program and made ineligible (again, lack of a reasonable "grace period" in the current implementation; our fault).

Anyway, if people have specific issues, for the moment, please open a support ticket.

Bladerus, Ray says you're already in the LTS program. We probably just need to improve the response on that page to make it clearer.

He also says that if you subscribe for 12 or more months at a time (basically paying a year in advance), you automatically are added to the program, whether you check the box or not.

Plus, he thinks grandfathered all existing 12+ month players into the program, without them having to sign up, back when we added the system.. but we have to double check the database to be sure.

Excellent! Thanks!

I was in the LTS program until last summer but let my subscription lapse after my previous one year key ran out, because I was too busy with work at that time.
Now after resubscribing, I found out that I am no longer in the LTS program, even though my account has been subbed for around 95 months in total.

Now that might be just the way you handle this, by only allowing those in the LTS program who never let their subscription lapse after the 1 year period, or you'll indeed have to double check your database.

Hmmm, I was in LTS programm since it started. Now I somehow am not.
I could buy camo hounds like a month or 2 ago, now I cannot.
Not to say anything about Goliath.....

Was wondering about this as well. I will make sure to tick the box :)

From https://www.vendetta-online.com/x/pledge

"After their respective year, people may cancel without negative ramification. They will lose their "Long Term Supporter" status upon cancellation, but will be welcome to re-apply for another year if they choose."

Thanks meridian.

After being a VO long time subscriber for over 93 months in total, clicking a damn button to confirm it seems a bit redundant.
Jan 13, 2017 greenwall link
it's a commitment to the future, not a reward for the past. If you cancel on them it makes complete sense to have to click a button to recommit.

Bojan: your subscription expired on 11/09. It turns out there is a two-week grace period now, and your LTS status expired on 11/23. So, yes, your LTS was expired due to your dropping your subscription.

Where is the checkbox for LTS? I am running through the sub screens and do not see it.
