Last night while trading I was attacked unprovoked by Itani vult (name available for future references). Oddly (me being a nevb and driving a cargo hauler) I killed the attacker. I told him to take a hike and went on to my business. 2 min later my attacker teamed with another Itani (name available for future references) and caught me in another sector for good, old gang rape. I was fortunate enough to dock with 2% of hull dogging rockets and tachons (Uffff!). My call for help was answered, but the attackers quickly disappeared after noticing 2 Serco Space Dogs searching for them. I assume they both disconnected since noone could find them anywhere including Itani home sector. Lame as hell if you ask me.
Personally, I hate being gang rape under any circumstances, especially when trading. But I am not going to whine about it, neither endlessly talk about being ethical or civil. Frankly, I think Vendetta’s players ethics have more to do with current weather, or players being bored (!) than with the definition of what’s ethical. But as both lamers had the rights to attack me I also have rights to put them both on my shoot on sight list. I will not be trading forever and hopefully with some Space Dogs’ help will also get some skills. (I heard-unofficially-Icarus is thinking about an apprentice. Wonder what the requirements will be?)
Now for the fun part. I had some nice friends in every nation and some of them are pretty good pilots. Next time those lame “pirates-wanna-be” will whine about being grieffed for no reason by random players, remember last night. First law of physics, every action cause a reaction, applies equally to any social situations as well. Some peps hate pirates, but NOBODY likes lamers.

Speaking of which a personal note to Itani player “Outrider”. Dude! You have some serious issues with attacking everyone you can see, but you got even bigger issues whining left and right when a player kicks your ass in return! Psychology was mainly developed to analyze human behavior, NOT to determine whether issuing is more honorable than getting killed! (20 min. whining!) There is a slight difference between Vendetta and those psycho chat rooms you subscribe to, where peps are endlessly analyzing which was first, egg or the chicken. Even those players who go to those chat rooms got annoyed yesterday with your lamlessnes. My advice is to unplug and get a date (real one not cyber), or if you not old enough to date ask Santa for a comic book this year instead of another psychological crap. Dude, chill out man!

Ethics? In Vendetta players? Ummm... Wha? :P Yeah, everybody seems to be preying on the newbs... It sucks...

you know, the thing is, I doubt you will learn much oif anything for a while, even if Icars actually takes you in as an apprentice. Flying in vendetta is something oyu can only learn from experience, and dieing a helluva bunch of times. Anywho, I really hope I don't see you on, I attack anything and everything in radar range, and few things get away alive...

yes, when I wasa n00b I was killed over and over again by Furball, then Icarus, then.... its just how it goes, you eventually gain enough experience to be-able to wart off greifers and pirates, allthought furball isn't much of a newb killer anymore

There are no career pirates in vendetta. There's only people who want to boost their ego by attacking people in a virtual world. Sad really.

A note on ethics: Ethics are defined by the laws of the game. Since the laws right now are "the biggest, baddest guy says what goes," it's anarchy. When a repututation system _with negative ramifications for griefers/criminals/pirates_ is implemented, then we may talk ethics.

I cant help but agree with stan about being pirated,if thats what you can call it. I still suck as a fighter pilot ( could be something to do with the crappy 1 button mac mouse - my excuse anyway ) but i do like to play as a team member or as a trader.
The number of times i get killed trading is beyond belief, half the time i just log off 'cos its no fun any more.
Maybe it is down to boredom or egos either way killing the unskilled or unwary REPEATEDLEY ( note use of word repeatedley ) will only lead to more newbies leaving the game than joining.

It seems like that's what the vets want. The sad fact is the people who've been here the longest think they own vendetta and believe they can do whatever the hell they like. However, this will lead to a very lonely game for them.

What ever happened to Uncle Dave and the concept of "drop your cargo traders or I'll kill you and take it" now days there aren't pirates there are just PKers which are anoying in any game that isn't specificaly designed for them (like the old, old vendetta)
