I'm pretty sure this is the same methodology that led to apache being called apache
Feb 20, 2017 Deranged link
Inc you can still do that kind of stuff from every other sector.
Feb 20, 2017 Deranged link
I thinks it's more broke now with players not getting temp kos in the nfz and gunners randomly being sent home.
Feb 20, 2017 Luxen link
As I understand it, gunners being sent home means that the pilot went somewhere that the gunner is KOS at. Its the pilots fault there. Also, saying that its stupid magic --- what should happen when the gunner doesnt have a ship to be ejected in? Are you saying that all deaths cause magic since you go back to your home station?

The gunner position is kinda for supporting the pilot, or for being transported somewhere. It minimally impacts the latter, and the pilot shouldnt be bringing you somewhere you are kos'd at for the former.
Feb 20, 2017 Deranged link
And what if that's exactly where you want to go. question if both are kos does the gunner still get Trumped (DEPORTED)?

Actually Luxen, turret gunners are being sent home arbitrary even when they are not KOS/hate anywhere. It's a bit annoying.

Then, perhaps someone should start a Bugs thread, and report it.
Feb 21, 2017 Xeha link
"/vote mute" will now succeed with only 5 votes, but mutes for only 30
minutes at a time. Successful mutes and participants are reported to
the developers. Players found to be abusing the mute-voting feature
may be permanently stripped of their ability to vote, and muted
themselves for an extended period.

Thanks for the new vote mute approach! This surely will help get the spammers muted.
If i see someone spamming on 100 excessivly, is it still forbidden to mute with multiple accounts? This question is only for that specific case, ie where its obvious someone is spamming like crazy on 100 and in case we cannot find other subbed players to mute him.

cheers
Xeha

Lets not make exceptions to that rule, Xeha...

I didnt ask you tough, obviously...
Feb 21, 2017 incarnate link
There is one vote per human. Do not use multiple accounts.

If a player is docked to a capship that does NOT belong to them, and
enters Guarded or Monitored space where their standing triggers the
launch of a Strike Force, the player will be ejected from the capship,
or returned to their home-station if they do not have a ship.

Sorry, but this is not a good change. This completely eliminates the ability for a person to pay a trident pilot to smuggle them into a system using their trident.

Some use cases to consider:

1. A trident full of Itanis wants to invade Serco space, or vice versa. Under this new behavior a military captain would eject all of their strike force and this would never happen in a real military event.

2. A player wants to rebuild their standing but is having trouble running the turrets because of the screen load time. They could previously pay somebody to shuttle them in safely while they get to an empty sector to kill bots.

This is by no means comprehensive, but this change eliminates legitimate and viable play in favor of what others have correctly described as a magical behavior. If you are going to implement something like this, give the captain the ability to override the behavior.

I think making the auto-eject toggle-offable would solve that issue, savet. right?
Feb 21, 2017 Faille Corvelle link
A toggleable option would defeat the purpose of the change. Maybe just auto-eject KOS gunners in station sectors? It seems the issue that prompted this change was specific to station sectors...
Feb 21, 2017 Savet link
Luxen,

Yes, exactly.

Faille,

The situation that prompted this change is no situation at all. As a trident captain it is your responsibility to know who your passengers are and if I am not mistaken the functionality already exists for a captain to eject a passenger from a trident. To remove the ability of players to choose to carry a hated person into monitored space removes legitimate gameplay functionality with questionable benefit.
Feb 22, 2017 Faille Corvelle link
It was my understanding that the issue was KOS people sitting in an admired players dent as a gunner, shooting from the nfz. Have I misunderstood?
Feb 22, 2017 incarnate link
No, you didn't misunderstand. ARF posted it quite clearly, back in page 1:

Either way this is better than it was and people can't use Admired capships to sit invincible in the NFZ of nation capitols and kill people as gunnner.

I've already answered every question and issue that keeps getting re-posted. I've already said this will all be resolved, and explained how, mostly in the first page.

This is one of those threads that shouldn't be posted to unless you actually read the whole thing. And if that's "TL;DR" then just don't post at all.
Feb 22, 2017 Deranged link
No this is not better what we have now is ridiculously bad. A group of it smurfs chase another group of smurfs into nation space and can't shoot them is stupid!!!!!!!! On top of that now your lucky if you get to keep a gunner at all wtg with this update freaking awesome.
Feb 22, 2017 Deranged link
BTW I think temp kos in the nfz is still broken.
