BountyBot might be offline for a few days. I broke my back in a snowboarding accident, and am staying home for at least a week. (The bot runs at work.)

I was at Kirkwood, south of Lake Tahoe. Just off chair 4, I jumped a snowcat track lip, and landed on a patch where all the snow had been blown away. Crunch.

Compression Fracture or not, YOWWW!

You on major pain pills or are the Docs bein Docs and telling you, "aww, that don't hurt, I had a guy in here yesterday with a skull fracture a a bullet wound. HE didn't need pain pills!"

I'm on the extra-strength vicodin. Can't take it for many more days though. :-/

After that, just lots of ibuprofin. I'm just lucky I don't need a body cast or a brace.

Yeah, vicodin is too addictive, Docs typically don't dose you more than 10 pills at a time and those 10 are supposed to last 5 days, take 2 a day.

I'd ask if they can't move you to Vioxx which isn't as addictive and is dosed higher, maybe as high as 25 pills for more days.

Or failing that, a hammer and some ibuprofin will fix you right up, but then you need Extra-Strength Bayer for migrains....


And, my Moms a PICU nurse so thats how I know all this to all of you who know me as my 15 year old self.
