I want a mission.

Woe is me that I would be away from my iBook right now.

You message the bot. It says "kill x number of type y bots". You do so and you recieve a message stating "You have recieved a [red|green|blue] medal". That's it. Nice and... simple.

you get to keep the missions in your inventory

There's gold medals too. You need to kill 4 badass bots for one of 'em.

/me was up to killing 24 badass bots when he stopped.

a1k0n said that by next week he'll have some "useful" missions out, but is not sure when they will be implemented into the game.

At least make it so that if you kill 5 badass bots you have to kill the frigate.

At the moment, the missions consist only of killing more and progressively harder bots. Obviously this is just the tip of the iceberg for missions. Thanks for all the testing and useful comments (comments that missions are "boring" aren't all that helpful).

/me has 3 of every medal and is waiting for the "Platinum" medal.

Heh it was just a test mission to see if the base mission system works. Also, it prevents you from having more than 1 mission at a time. If not, andy didn't update the server properly and we'll have to clear out inventories when it is updated.

So i know this question is on everyones mind...

It's the latest code, Ray, but apparently you can still trick it into giving you more than one mission.

Also, I find this amusing:

You can just [/msg "[NPC] botname" yes] twice, and it will give you the same mission twice, giving you two medals when you kill the set amount of bots. The bot kills count for both missions, as well.

Hmmm... I fail to see what's wrong with having more than one mission at a time. For example, in EVN, I would frequently take on about 3 or 4 courier missions, because all the deliveries were to the same general area.

Nothing wrong at all, but it's the same mission. When you ask for a third, it says something about not being able to have more than one mission at once.

heh, well, it wasn't meant to go into production anyways.

One thing is that you can take a mission and then perform that mission anywhere and between logouts.
However you cannot end the mission other than completing it successfully.

why does it go so variedly in difficulty?
As in, from destroy 3 difficult bots, to destroy eight badass ones? I wasn't really compelled to perform that mission. *cough*

However, that might have been due to the reset's. is there a way to find out your mission again?

Yeah, Thats what I was expecting as well.. But I redid the first few a couple of times due to server restarting..
So it could very well be some state gone wrong
