Aaand it's finally public. After quite a few hours of modifications and bugfixing (and boy, that is some seriously tiring crap!), the Serco-Gate Network has now successfully become the New VendettaWeb.

The New Server, which is a 30GB Unix box with its own nameservers and great bandwidth, will be able to handle more simultaneous connections and member-site subdomains (yoursitehere.vendettaweb.net), not to mention that we will be able to host far more sites than before.

Many thanks go to Asphyxia for hosting the New Serco-Gate (VendettaWeb, that is) on his excellent servers and assisting (well, more than assisting, we both now run the Network) in Network Administration.

Network Version is now in 0.8 beta (yet to be incorporated is the login-system and a subdomain for the Network's Demonstration Account), and Site Status at v1.8 ("recent forum posts" module added at index.php, misc. bugfixes, tweaks and manual additions).

Hey archon, can we get some subdomain links? IE, if http://itani.vendettaweb.net redirected to http://itani.roguelazer.com, that'd be cool. It could be done by making the /itani directory, and putting index.html in that directory as a META REFRESH tag.

itani.vendettaweb.net is now a cname for itani.roguelazer.com

this is effective immediately (i.e. now =p)

you'll have to create a seperate apache VirtualHost entry for itani.vendettaweb.net to point to the same http docroot as itani.roguelazer.com. im sure this wouldnt be a problem.

Your end. You need to read what he said about setting up virtual hosts, and then do that.

Sorry to use gs's webspace, but I'm too much of a n00b to know how to setup a vhost. I don't have admin-level access on the system that hosts the site, so there'd better be a way to do it in CPanel.

ok, all done, itani.vendettaweb.net is now a redirect, not a cname for itani.roguelazer.com

all works.. though vendettaweb.net's ttl is 1h so some ppl may still see the cpanel page for the next 55mins or whatever.

Not sure if Cpanel can do it (I think it depends on the kind of options your host has given you), Rogue, but Cpanel's cpanel, WHM, ought to.

Anyway, back on topic, the VendettaWEB Network Services irc bot is online at irc.vendettaweb.net (#vendettaweb). Its a beta release and so not very functional but a good starting point for suggestions/comments/core bug testing.

You'll need an account at forums.vendettaweb.net to play with it.
