The New Gal
I walked out of the small military base in Jallik where IA made it's
home my combat boots making a dull thudding sound as I walked.
Internally I powered up my com implant and called Smit.
"Borb?"
"Yeah, just thought I would let you know I was gonna be gone for a few hours."
"Oh man you better tell me it has nothing to do with BLAK I can't have
you giving IA a bad name already. The guys are still giving my flack
for allowing you to join."
"It may have some thing to do with BLAK..."
"Damn it Borb! You can't be doing this, I order you to remain in base."
I laughed.
"Or what you gonna kick me outta IA? Then where would you be hmm?
Sides it would mean you would have to tell all the other IA guys you
where wrong about me, and I know you don't want to do that."
He was silent, I could tell he was vary unused to some one not
snapping to attention the second he gave an order.
"Relax Smit, I promise I'm not doing any thing illegal. You know I'm a
professional, I told you I would not give IA a bad name and I ment
it."
"Ok, but you make sure your not gone for too long we may need you."
"Am I ever gone long? You know me I gotta keep my fingers in the pie."
And with that I close the call to him. And opened another one to Itan.
"Hello?"
A female voice picked up on the other end.
"Hey girl you ready for pick up?"
"Oh Borb, nice to hear from you, yeah I should be here when you get here."
"Ok be there in a few."
I walked into the hanger and up to my gleaming pink IDF valk. I looked
at my reflection in the polished armor plating of the IDF. I looked
good in my pressed IA uniform. One thing I had always remembered from
my days in the Serco Space Marines, was to keep your uniform nice.
Mine was meticulous.
It was then I realized I had been in the military force of each
nation, from the SSMs, to the VPRs and now IA. I laughed as the irony
of it set in. Then walking past the thee neutron blasters on the front
of my ship I got in a pulled out with out waiting for clearance.
I must say all my life I have liked pushing the rules as far a I could
with out braking them too bad. This job would be no exception I
thought as the Tani controller came on the com.
"What are you doing."
"IA, emergency!"
I said back as I jumped out of the system. I loved using the power I
had as military for my own gain.
It was not long till I was setting down at the base of the Itan
mountain ranges. Amelia, was during her time underground a member of
IGPK, well an LT actually. Heh, the commander of IGPK and me went back
a long time, he had asked me right before we went underground to help
him get his guild going.
So I had helped him, though I'm not sure if this is how he ment me to.
Any way Amelia had deiced to have a little her time, and take a
vacation up to the Itan mountains to do what ever Itanis did up in
mountains.
I stepped out of my ship and looked around, this did not really seem
like the place a rich person would go to, it was I guess you could say
minamallistic. I wondered if they even had a decent computer system
around.
As I panned around some more I saw a woman coming towards me, I my
face broke into wide grin as I realized it was Amelia. She had a large
back pack on her, and was dressed in rugged clothing. Like she had
been on an op or some thing. Not really cloths some one would use to
relax and vacation in if you ask me.
She saw me and started jogging over a wide smile on her face as well.
She was the newest member of BLAK, she was my student, my friend, and
the only BLAK member I maintained contact with when I when
underground.
"Borb!"
"Hey."
"Isn't this place beautiful?"
I looked around, it was a mountain range, just like all the other
mountains in the galaxy. Nothing special about it I thought, but I
guess she like it.
"Yeah it's nice." I said. To which she smiled bigger.
"So um what's with all the stuff?"
"What do you mean?"
"I though you where on vacation. What did you need a kit for?"
"A kit? Oh... I'm not on a mission, it's what you use to camp in you know."
"Camp?"
"Yeah you know get away from every thing find some peace." That would
explain why I had not had contact with her after she had left. Nothing
out here to make contact with.
"Um, can't you find the same peace when you lock the door to your room
and turn off all the com systems."
"No silly, It's not the same."
"If you say so." I donno about you but acting like I'm on an op in the
middle of no where is not really my idea of R&R.
"Haha! Are you telling me you've never done any thing like this?"
"Not to relax."
"Your kidding you have to do it some time."
"Heh, I donno does not seem like my thing."
"You'd love it!"
I grinned. "Maybe if you came along."
She grinned back and said deal.
We walked over to the the building they had set up at the base of the
mountain, they had a small place that served what I guess you could
call food. It was all vary organic and had an odd tast to it, but it
gave us time too talk.
We reminisced for a short time, about all the mining we had done as
Lahmi, and Lydia. About the time SCAR showed up and I got all the VPRs
to show up and fight them back. We laughed as we remembered how Mecha
asked for a parlay with IGPK in a bar. And how I was there the whole
time using inner ear com to advise her on how to handle things. Then
laughed at how mad Mecha had gotten when he realized a VPR was in the
bar the whole time.
We talked about the times before when we would go on bounty hunts with
one another, about training, and how we first met. I then got her back
up to speed on the developments with BLAK, mostly how we had come back
when she was on "vacation".
"You mean you knew and did not tell me till now?"
"Haha, no I knew the day after you left. Shape kinda surprised us all
when he came back and said it was time to move back in."
Our conversation was interrupted by an Itani keeper of the peace. What
they call cops.
"Is that your ship out side?" He asked in a demanding tone. Now when
you dealt with as many cops as I have you get to know that tone means
your in trouble. I stood up an looked out the window.
"That pink one?"
"It's the only ship out there." He said gritting his teeth.
"I donno is it mine?"
"Don't play games with me I saw you get out of it, I also saw you park
it on the grave of Monk Eton the third." He was clearly vary mad at
me.
"What? Show me?"
We walked out to my ship and sure enough there was a small head stone
and about three feet down where the body should be under ground was
the landing strut of my ship.
"Oh don't worry man, you Tanis are all so short I bet it's not even on him."
"He was 6 foot 4! This place was founded in his honor!!!" Yes he was
mad and I had been a bad boy.
"And all you guys could do is give him a little head stone?" In Sol II
when some one gets a shrine they get a building and statues the works.
Not some little stone.
"It is an example of his humility! You have desecrated this place."
"Look I'm on IA business I was in a hurry and did not see it I'm
sorry." This seemed to clam him down alittle but he was still mad.
"Who is your CO, I will be giving him a call and impounding your ship."
I had work to do and no time for an impounding. Slowly reaching up
with my left hand like I was itching my right shoulder I reached under
my lepel. What looked like the IA logo pinned on the lepel was really
just a way of holding a small push dagger in a easy to get to spot.
Smit said I could not hurt IA's name, but if no one ever found a body,
no one would ever know.
Amelia must had seen me going for the knife and figured out was about
to happen cus she jumped in-between him and me holding a 100k cred
stick in her hand.
"I'm am lieutenant Lydia of the intergalactic peace keepers. IA is
escorting me back to UIT space in order to protect me from the viscous
SCAR pirate attacks. Maybe this money would help keep his memory alive
and well even with this desecration?"
I smiled, she has saved his life, given me a story to tell the IA guys
when this guy called, and gotten me outta alitte trouble.
He looked unsure at first till she turned on the charm. She was a vary
good looking Itani, and he was young. I guess there is some thing to
be said for being a woman pirate.
"Ok" He said smiling at her and taking the money. Then looking at me
he said. "But don't think you are off, I will make sure a message gets
to military commander Apex."
I nodded and waved at him grinning as grabbed Amelia's bag and hopped
in the ship. When she got in I looked at her.
"To Sedina?"
She grinned.

They did not really let me join they more or less asked me to come on and train them to be good. Let me tell you it ain't gonna be easy. ;p

What you don't like IA hiring BLAK pirates to help them train their antipirate pilots? It seems like a great idea to me. :P

Half Serco? Last time I looked I was full Serco, with UIT and Itani papers to help aid me when on ops.
His training is already working. I got hailed by an IA member earlier with:
