Attention, Commander Maso

Jul 18, 2005 UIT Border Patrol link
At approximately 0100 hours today, Border Patrol Unit HA-7331x was ambushed by a member of your guild in direct violation of our nonaggression pact. HA-7331x sustained severe damage from missile fire, attained a safe distance, and reminded the ambusher of the repercussions of their actions, at which point the ambusher turboed within range and opened fire again, forcing our Unit to destroy their ship.
If there are any further incidents of this nature, we will consider the pact terminated, and VPR will be placed on our Kill On Sight list. We cannot afford ambiguity, and if you cannot control the actions of the members of your guild, you are as much of a threat to commerce as the other pirate organizations.

BP,

please provide proof, names or screenshots of this action so that we can investigate. Thank you.

"We cannot afford ambiguity, and if you cannot control the actions of the members of your guild, you are as much of a threat to commerce as the other pirate organizations."

Nor can *we* "afford ambiguity"... we will simply need more information other than "a member of your guild"...

Go to http://viperguild.com website where you will find a contact list to get in touch with the Commander or one of the LTs directly...

Send a message to my viperguild.com email address and we can start sorting things out. This is, however, nothing for a public discussion (or bashing even).

I would appreciate to see this thread locked. Thank you.

Oh, I dunno, Maso. VPR's already "less than sterling" credibility as defenders of the innocent and attackers only of those who have committed unjustified aggression indicates that this is exactly the sort of thing we need to have aired in a public forum.

I urge the UIT BP to disclose the identity of this attacker and any relevant logs of the event. Should VPR truly stand for the ideals it hides behind, they will welcome such full disclosure and swiftly deal with their rogue agent themselves and publically post their disciplinary actions. The sort of backroom dealing Maso advocates only serves to suggest that VPR condones, or at least winks at, such "excesses" by their members. Public disclosure can only serve to enhance VPR's reputation, if this is indeed an unsanctioned act.

Unless, horresco referens, VPR wishes to conceal its lack of true moral footing by sweeping incidents (certainly more numerous than reported, thanks to the sort of approach Maso is taking here) such as this under the proverbial rug...? That sort of thing, I understand fully, would require swift quashing of this topic (I will leave unmentioned avoidance of the embarrasment of having any guild mate fall prey to a BP unit, especially a crippled one ;).

I have to agree with the liver-eating doctor here. If this business is sorted out behind curtains, it will only serve to indicate VPR's acting more like Michael Jackson about them kids or the Catholic Church about them wayward priests, than as an organization that doesn't condone that type of actions by its members.

I demand Full Disclosure, or we add "hypocrites" to the layman's description of VPR, which I remind you already has the word "posers" in there.

Of course, you could drop the "honor and defense of the weak" facade and just say "we're an older version of IGPK", and that'd be it.

Honestly, you "defender" Guilds could learn a lot of honesty from the pirate guilds; they have always been frank about what they do!

/Off Topic/ jex, do us all a favor and get the real world references out of your post, this is a roleplaying thread for vendetta and those particular comments are completely off topic, and moderately offensive as well

/end Off Topic/

I don't see anything too objectionable about the Viper guild not wishing the accusations made public, such accusations can remain in the minds of other people even if they are subsequently proven false or exxagerated. As long as maso posts a public disclosure of the charges and disciplinary actions should the charges be substantiated there is no reason to make these accusations totally public unless no action is taken by the VPR guild after the contact procedure has been followed.
They have a stated policy and procedure for bringing complaints to the attention of the leadership and as long as they follow that policy there is no reason for a public attack that is largely unsupported.
Had the border patrol cited witnesses or produced a log of some sort it STILL would have been more appropriate to go directly to maso instead of the public accusation. A simple request for contact information would have been sufficient if the Border patrol was truly interested in resolving the matter in a calm manner.

I've got the feeling everytime something happens around VPR, there are a bunch of pirates who like to jump on the matter like flies on a pile of shit. I know you have a problem with us, heck, everybody knows. You want us to leave you alone? Simple, Don't shoot traders, else, suffer the concequences, but stop taking cheap shots at every opertunity here on the forum. Thats just pathetic.
And Jex, who the fuck is Michael Jackson?

Arash Wu [VPR] council

[off topic] @ jex, Yea boy, tell me what a sick pedophile has to do with an armed conflict? Please stick to RP here. You might even post your in game name on a RP forum, so we can get a reference, cause now you're just giving cheap shots, while hiding behind your forum name. That is not nice. This is not the first time you're bashing on VPR, but you wont reveal who you are, how the fuck should we know what your problem is with us then? [/off topic]

Me points at the fact that Dr. Lecter is the only pirate to have actually posted in this thread. (well until now that is:P)
Jul 19, 2005 yodaofborg link
Oi, which pirate is Viper Bashing? (is Doc a pirate? I thought he was just like a cannibal type, meh, me shugs)

[edit, and off topic and me rambling]

And if you think swearing on a public forum arash is a good way of sorting this matter out, I would like to point out it is not, and after seeing the way you carry yourself, I will just skip ahead when I see your posts from now on :P

[edit 2]

VPR intelligence isnt what it used to be is it? hehe

/me points to this thread : http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/7/10911 (Sorry, but I couldn't let that one slide, heh)
Jul 19, 2005 ArAsH link
I was swearing?? Damn, guess I [fill in bad word yourself] hang out too much in [fill in bad word yourself] grey [fill in bad word yourself] space. It tends to [fill in bad word yourself] roughen you up a little :p

"/me points to this thread : http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/7/10911"

euhm, ooooo...k, guess that one slipped passed me somehow, but still, if you want to hit on someone, tell em who you are, its not up to us to find out. Like i said, thats not nice. But hey, forget it, it's happening again , youknow, the flies n shit [now here's a nice pun]
Jul 19, 2005 yodaofborg link
Heh forget it, I dont have an issue with the VPR guild, I'm just being me, I think the VPR's can conduct themself's however they want, but like pirates, they have to accept the reactions they get too, makes no difference to me, i'll still attack you on sight :)
Jul 19, 2005 Dr. Lecter link
>>>like flies on a pile of shit<<< Why, Arash, what a wonderfully accurate description of VPR. A pile of shit. /me ponders... well, you said it :) And I'd prefer to be the fly, all things considered. Oh, and there be a filter thingy ye can use, should the airwaves in gray be too harsh fer yer virgin ears!

@Yodar: I do occasionally rat the pie, but it's fairly rare. Largely, if it ain't serco, I shoot first and never really bother with questions or demands. For some reason, likely the "intelligence" problems, VPR equates that with piracy.

The thread served its purpose (BP got my attention) and is now bound to become off-topic. I won't participate in slandering about people without any evidence anyway. Conducting investigations in public also isn't very professional, is it? Hence, the continuation of this thread is pointless.

We hope, however, for input from BP over a more private channel so that we can actually check the credibility of the accusations made here. Any news relevant to the community will be publicly posted - either here or at viperguild.com.

FM, please lock this thread.

Why do you keep pushing lector? Just drop it!

/me shoots lector in the foot, turns around and throws 5c to the bartender: "Sorry bout the mess!"

More problems will be solved with logic and clear thinking, then with emotions and gun fire.
Jul 19, 2005 Dr. Lecter link
'Rash (likely a nasty, inflamed rash at that), please name the sector should you actually wish to exchange fire. I'll enjoy it and it will cost me less than 5c to clean up your mess. As for pushing, I again note that *you* said it :D And fyi, it's spelled Lecter... though that's "Dr. Lecter" to you.

And yeah, this has become an idle smack talk thread, so probably should be locked. Though I should note that while investigations are not usually public, accusations are and investigative findings needn't be published only at the conclusion thereof.
Jul 19, 2005 LeberMac link
though that's "Dr. Lecter" to you.
Yeah - he didn't spend 6 years in evil doctor school to be called "Mister"...

Although it IS very fun to fight lecter until he runs out of flares, then tries his /explode trick to kill you as a last resort.
Perhaps someday he will learn and equip one energy weap...

I read the whole thread, but Im still stuck on "Dr. lector = pirate" ? I thought he was one of those clay pidgeon pilots that we use for target practice! ;)

As far as Vipers go, I judge them individually. There are quite a few very honorable Vipers that I greatly respect. Then there are a couple (such as the one mentioned above) that bring shame to the Viper guild. It's too bad the idiot Vipers tend to get more notice than the Vipers that really are doing good things. Alas, human nature.

The details of this incident (such as the name of the attacker) are not of concern to the public. We will provide details to VPR's leadership alone, so that they can take any measures needed to deal with this problem. However, the fact that this incident occurred must not be hidden.
Our dealings with VPR have been almost entirely positive since our inception. However, it only takes one stray match to burn an entire building down.
This thread should be locked.
