Anouncing the Corporate Sectors Run! This is a more fast paced, shorter veersion of the Deneb Run through territory that the other race doesn't cover. It will occur every Friday at 9pm EDT. It begins in Helios D-14( I believe). It's the non serco station in Helios at any rate. Contestants start 3000m out and within 300m of me. Racers go through Ukari and then thruogh UIT space to Edras. Then the contestants go through grey space back to Helios D-14. First one docked in gets the prize (1 million crdits), 2nd gets 500k and 3rd gets 250k. No shooting before the race begins, but during it's all good.

The best time so far was set with a good old fashioned FC. No need to ban the UC.

Plus I beat Leber and his UC tonight. It can be done just with a little more work.

UC is not über. Far from it, just requires a different strategy. I'm tempted to keep using it just to piss off Zoras...

Great race this weekend! fooz and I swapped the lead like 6 times it seemed, I kept plotting straight through and catching ion storms, he kept plotting around and passing me, but I would always catch up in the next sector...

I caught a total of 4 storms. I bet if there was a time when I didn't hit ANY storms, I could probably shave off about 60 seconds from that time, but that would be the upper limit. There's only so fast you can go with 240 m/s, 55 drain, and a 3000 kg ship.

I'd like to thank Martin for making the race interesting as I shot thru Odia B-13, he got off a quad rail shot at me whilst I was warping, finished the race with 12% hull... (nice try, better luck next time...)

fooz and I were neck in neck as we went thru Ukari, but that was the ONE time I plotted around, and I beat him by SECONDS. Scant seconds! Whew!

Teh Writeup:

The racers lined up within 300 meters of me, asu usual, at the 3,000 meter mark in Helios. With a countdown and a scanner firing, they were off! Well, most of them. Blackhole Goldclaw's ship wouldn't start and all that could be heard was "DAMN YOU MOTHER". Foul play is suspected to be done by certain higher ups of BG.

Well, anyway, the rest of the racers were off. All opted for the direct route to the wormhole. LeberMac and fooz rushed into Ukari neck and mneck as Pilot 13 and Demonor entered Helios O-12, also neck and neck. But somehow, pilot gained on fooz and left Demonor behind. LeberMac led entering Arta, followed by Pilot 13 and then Demonor, as he passed fooz.

Demonor passed Pilot to take 2nd place around the wormhole. Afterwards, almost all jumped the straight line to the next wormhole. This allowed fooz to take the lead as everyone else hit storms. LeberMac pulled out of the storm first, though and was gaining on fooz. Pilot and Demonor pulled out neck and neck, as fooz had a one second lead on Leber entering Dau. Pilot seems to have pulled ahead of Demonor in Dau, as Leber blows past fooz and entered Nyrius.

The order did not switch up anymore. A couple of interesting things happened though....

In Odia, LeberMac almost lost the lead due to a pierat named Martin shooting rails at him. LeberMac got lucky and avoided all other shots in his direction, limping in for 1st place with only 1,000 armor left. It appears Holdan was with Martin and did a number on Pilot as he tried to fight back with them.

fooz2916 would take 2nd place right behind LeberMac, due to a fatal error with his nav comp. Otherwise he would've earned first place. Pilot 13 would pull in for 3rd and Demonor for 4th.

Again, awesome race. Congrats to fooz for also breaking the record, and to Pilot and Demonor! Sorry BG about yer ship. Better talk to those TPG techs... or fire yer pit crew!

Yeah, the Convoy Gaurdian is a great ship if you know how to use it, and clearly Pilot did. Next time my friend i recomend two things: 1) selling unnecessary stuff at stations to par down your loading times and 2) ditch the geminis, in a hornet every extra N of thrust counts, it you insist on having weapons go with TPG Sparrows.
