Well, Sh was displaying his usual [Deleted before FM gets to it]-ness tonight. After one such fight, I grabbed my rails, and jumped to B8.

Well, I sat there for a bit, and then SH jumped in. With his usual "I pwn you and run"-ness, he decided to turbo right at me. Well, I am by no means a n00b with rails, and all it took was that one shot, and boom.

That's all. I just thought you guys should know that SH finally bites the dust.

Wooo Down with runners & gankers!

Perhaps we can go over the definition of that word while we're here. Acording to my information, the primary use of gank is "to take by force; to steal". Clearly that's not the one we're talking about here. Another use is "to playerkill in a MMORPG." Clearly that's not the use, either, since pking is encouraged in VO. According to wikipedia, "but [it] is most commonly used when getting attacked when unprepared." So does gank mean chatkilling? I've seen it used ingame to mean when more than one player attack one player, which is kinda dumb, since this a MMORPG, and that sort of behavior -ought- to be all right. What's your definition?

Gank can mean a number of things. However, the one I was referring to was 'to kill through numbers' or perhaps 'backhandedly' in general, though I perhaps ought to put emphasis on the 'runner' aspect. Both Ayn and Space hunter fit this description rather nicely. BUNNY also comes to mind.

Yeah I kinda always took it as underhanded killing, most notably by a group of people.

Lately, I think "run", "spam", "swarm", and "gank", regardless of any official or recorded definition, tend to take on the quality of whatever the person who utters them does not like. I'm going to smack someone with a mallet the next time I hear that kind of stuff screamed on 100.

gank=group spank
swarm is a swarm is a swarm (as long as they sell em!)
run=is get away
spam=canned ham-like stuff with gelatanous goop

Doing all these together is what pisses people off.

Borb's description is the one I use. It is possible to be ganked by one person, particularly upon leaving a wormhole :D
