Joyce'd be interested in keeping the capship battles alive, but the ever present problem of forcing a Guide to be around when he deserves to be resting persists.

Why didn't you take it over Joyce, or did you? I was in The Itani medical center for the last 2 months. I'm sorry i could't follow up with you. I wasn't provided with universe access to the com nets (the internet :) jut local access sorry.

Same snag as before, that being Guide support. We though of moving them to a time/day where it's not that much trouble, but...

Saturday afternoons, perhaps? I think even I could swing those... And even participate >.>

That puts me out. The only uninterupted time I have is after 10:15pm or so PST.

Jex: The problem with the battles is that the timeing is always bad for someone. No one knows how long it was for me (and others) to agree to a time.

Well i guess planned hive and cap ship battles are dead anyway. Doesn't look like anyone has done one in the last 2 month anyway. But i'm sure sure "suprise" cap ships battles will still happen.

Also cap ships and the hive aren't new anymore. there are other things for new players to get into. (I'm assuming here only because i assume things were added in my absence but i haven't had the time to catch up in the forums.)

There was an impromptu-summoned-by-a-guide battle this morning, but I don't know how many people participated, because I was a) nowhere near Sedina and b) logged out shortly after the capships were spawned.

Yap, days like these events like the bus and roid wars are enough to keep many people interested, not to mention that the capship battle dynamics changed a lot when they got that massive upgrade to their arms and armor.

I still think they are a good newbie hook, even if they are no longer as nail-biting as before.

Hell just run the capital ship battles back to back like we used to.

Hmmm, with my Corporate Sectors Run pretty much dead (races are fun, but when you split the small number there are between two races....). I might like to pick this up, or start something similar, ie combat oriented event.

Well there is one good thing... As long as we have interested people to plan events the game will never truly get boring :)

As you all know i haven't been around for the last 2 months... isn't there some NEW thing we coulld base an event on?

I have an idea, involving the Hive. Only problem is when the Sedina Hive is completely cleared out.

new hive hunt missions?

Sorta. I was gonna work around 4 man teams, as many teams as the Bastion situation will allow. Basically, find two or more Bastions with roughly the same number of bots. Then on a go signal, the teams take off from next to the Sedina D-14 station and do what they got to do to clear out the Hive from their designated sector. 2 million credits to the winning team, ie 500k per. Once the Sedina Hive becomes the Everywhere Hive, I'd up the prize to 4 million credits, ie 1 million credits per team member, but it would switch to attacking Strongholds and the Levi.

This would be a monthly or bi-monthly event at most (hell no, not weekly. I don't have the funds for that).

EDIT: Or 3 man teams, winners get 750k each, ie 2.25 mill. whichever. But this could cause the creation of permanent teams of fighters who communicate and fight well in a group.
