What happened to the IDF?

I've just returned from a prolonged abcence (broke my right hand and couldn't play without pain) and it seems like the IDF has vanished. What happened? I remember the IDF/IA split and a bunch of IDF members leaving, but it still seemed like the IDF was still alive.

IDF and IA have merged into [Itan] Coalition of Itan. Message myself, Mogul Velaio, or Yasumoto ingame for an invite if you want in.

*glares at people-in-charge of writing announcement* Get on the ball!

Um, you're Commander, Holdan. Get to Writing! Or do I need to start a *poke* thread? Or do you want ME to write it? (/me plots evil things...)

Roach, IDF and IA are alive and well in a larger, more active guild [Itan] which will be holding elections for positions of responsibility soon™. Neither guild absorbed the other, we merely decided that we liked each other enough to play together.

Hold on Leber, you forgot about how the ponies also found the magical crystal and peace was restored in the land

I'm gonna do more than glare if our webhost (or rather, Leber's webhost) doesn't get us some shiny updated PHP soon...

I would have it written by now, except for one thing: People keep saying "I'll do it!" and then...not doing it. *sigh* I'll get it done..

I'll write it for you and I'm not even in the guild, or even Itani for that matter.

"IDF and IA have merged into [Itan] Coalition of Itan. Message Holdan, Mogul Velaio, or Yasumoto ingame for an invite if you want in.

Recent budget cuts to "non-esential" government programs have forced all Itanis to look for ways to streamline managment. By merging IDF and IA, administrative costs for commanders and LTs can be reduced by 50%.
Also, the larger purchasing power for materials like ships and ammo should result in a savings of over 500,000 credits in the 1st year. In addition to the merger, all members will have to pay 97% of the premiums for a single healthcare plan, 99% of the premiums for a family plan. This, combined with a 15% pay cut will save Itan over 25 Billion credits during the next budget cycle."

I was thinking more along the lines of this:

Due to the incredible mismanagement of the Neural Spike Program and the subsequent loss of the Spike itself, the Itani Alliance has been sacked.

Furthermore, the IDF has been called on account of rain.

The Itani government has created a new guild [Itan] that incorporates the members of both [IA] and [IDF] and is in general more, well, bigger. And more active. And we'll have a much cooler website if my webhost ever lets me upgrade to php 4.4.x....

That is all. Nothing more to see here...

so... they fired all of IA because they were incompotent, cancled the IDF program, because of bad wether, and then formed an newer, better, bigger guild, and hired all the people they just fired?

this is why governments shouldn't be alowed to govern.

Perhaps the people responsible for sacking those who were just sacked should, in turn, be sacked?
Nov 04, 2005 Shapenaji link
This is just to let everyone know that, due to the sacking of those who sacked those
who were just sacked, Nerde Verde has been sacked.
Nov 04, 2005 greengeek link
So I guess the logical progression is for the CoI website to be redone in bright flashing colors, and their entire roster to be replaced with alts named for some type of llama?
Nov 04, 2005 leapfrog link
I hereby sack Shape for suggesting that Nerde be sacked, for suggesting that those that sacked be sacked...

(man... this is starting to remind me of a really ugly nested IF)

Hey, I predicted IA and IDF would fold, and voila!

I must be psychic!

Come on, ask me 'bout the horse races! Or tomorrow's weather! I dare ya!

The Llama trainer has also been sacked.

The Red llama of Brixton? How come everything comes back to llamas... Isn't bunchie a space llama?

/me gets the flashing red & yellow screens with the mexican music for the new flash intro.

AND!!! My webhost is cooperating! All they needed was some money! Yay! Soon there will be a nice new (php 4.4.1 and mySQL 4.1.x) website that Moofed will love to administer.

llamas are the way of the future. as long as you don't put too many sacks on their backs.
Nov 04, 2005 Shapenaji link
unfortunately, the llamas have just been sacked.
