Anouncing the Corporate Sectors Run! This is a more fast paced, shorter veersion of the Deneb Run through territory that the other race doesn't cover. It will occur every Friday at 9pm EDT. It begins in Helios D-14( I believe). It's the non serco station in Helios at any rate. Contestants start 3000m out and within 300m of me. Racers go through Ukari and then thruogh UIT space to Edras. Then the contestants go through grey space back to Helios D-14. First one docked in gets the prize (1 million credits), 2nd gets 500k and 3rd gets 250k. No shooting before the race begins, but during it's all good.
Also, an additional 500k goes to the first person who can break the current record. So 1st place can potentially get you 1.5 million credits!

Record Times:
LeberMac - 16:14 (Grudgematch Race)
Niki - 17:42 (Race #7)
LeberMac - 17:57 (Race #4)
Screwball - 18:04 (Grudgematch Race)
Also, if anybody (or guild) wants to sponsor the race with moneys, I'd be much obliged.

/random aside:
Funny how those times are almost comparable to a 5k cross-country race.

I hold the highest non-valk time, I demand its place in the record times!
And I demand that CDC pay for the prizzes as it promised to. Too bad we don't always get what we want.
Listen, if I could be in-game at the moment I'd gladly sponser the race at my own expense. But, unfortunately I cannot be, and I have only so much say in guild policy. I would hope that my fellow guildmates would support our former CO and render asistance in keeping this race active.

So, in the end, CDC turned into penny-pinchers too?
Wow, that Guild has like, everything!
Too bad it refuses to die still.

The CDC will repay anyone who wants to put up the prize money once I (or someone else active in the guild) get(s) the CDC bank from Onina Tola...However, this is NOT long-term. We need someone else to sponsor this race.
EDIT: Also, at least 6 racers must show up.

The Makchuga will be sponsoring the race now, fooz.
fooz2916,
one of my alts "Fullturtle Alchemest" is curently acting as CDC's bank. i think we should transfer the money to an account of somone more reliably active than myself.
Moldy,
as the source of the power vacume that led to this legisticle oversight i say "deal with it"

Did anyone actually finish the race this time?
:P
:P
nope, we got them all... it was a hellova ambush.
Bagged three of 'em myself, tho I think one might not have been a racer...

UPN got a face-full of my L-mines... heh.
I'm not sure who it was that got my L-mines coming in - they popped fast though.. I finished the other two L-mine-damaged racers that came through with rockets.
Joyce actually managed to dodge Cunjo's mines, but fell to a couple of his flares.
Of course, she was already down to about 20% thanks to UPN and his valk who had been chasing the racers since Verasi, otherwise she might have gotten away. Gavan was also pursuing racers, but either it was not his day or he sucks totally since he only tagged Joyce once, and that was with flares at extreme proximity range; her Hornet didn't even spin a little.

And thats what ya get for trying to race through a pirate controlled sector, heh, I even got a kill before it hit b8, and the lmines hit me :D.

and Joyce's biggest mistake was to stop and fight him... especially knowing I was in pursuit.
but yea, UPN gets most credit for that kill =P

Atlas Type X with an FC Batt and a megaposi
Eagle_1 - Serco newcomer to the race
Hornet mk1 with an FC Batt, 3x Charge Cannons and 1x Plasma Blaster
Joyce Sanders - Repeat racer and a Makchuga barkeep, she won 2nd place last week
Orion Hornet Convoy guardian with an FC Batt and no weps
Vigilant - Itani newcomer to the race
Centurion IBG with 2x Nuets and an FC Batt
"The Pirates await"
- Quote of the night
Teh Results (This is the official order in which they died, top being the last one to die):
Eagle_1 - DNF
Pilot 13 - DNF
Joyce Sanders - DNF
Vigilant - DNF
Yes, that's right no one finished this race.
As an aside, there were twelve raacers in both races (CSR and Deneb Run) and only two survivved. I sense an increase in pirate and mercenary activity around the races. So hire you merc today!

Summary in a few minutes
Okay now for teh race itself.
After some slight delays caused by So-Lotus and who? me? (pwned u Lotus and with energy too =P) the racers took off. Joyce and Pilot entered Ukari neck and neck, with Vigilant not too far behind. But Eagle's Heavy Batt would hurt him and he slowed down. Storms were hit, asteroid fields plotted into and time wasted, but the race would spice up from it's tedium in Verasi.
Apparently, there was a pirate convention in Sedina that day and so amny of our regular (an returning vet) pirates came out to play. As Joyce warped into Verasi, she was greeted by the specters of UPN and Gavan. "Upn the Relentless" had begun his chase of the night.
In the meantime, It looks as if Vigilant was largely ignored by the pirates even though he had caught up to and was then tied with Joyce. Upn was slowly dinking Joyce's armor as the leaders left Verasi and then left Edras. Pilot 13 entered Edras a short while later as Eagle had just entered Verasi.
Quickly, the leaders ran to the safe jumping distance, pirate dogs on their tail. Vigilant would fall a little behind though, as Joyce entered Odia one jump ahead of him. Pilot had just entered Bractus and Eagle had just come into Pelatus. Faster and faster they went, rushing to Sedina for, if they got through b8, hey would be homefree to Helios!
Joyce, still posessing the lead but at about 30% armor, jumped twice in Sedina and ended up only 500m from the wormhole. unfortunately, she also ended up about 300m from Cunjo who took the last 30% of her hull with Lmines. She was casualty #2. Way back in Odia, before Joyce entered b8, Viglant was about to enter Sedina. Unfortunately for him, the pirates chasers gave up on Joyce and focused their attentions on him. He was sent to the After-Race Party at the Makchuga the quick way. Casualty #1.
Pilot 13 would also enter b8, but through the direct route. He would meet a gaggle of Serco nationalist and Pirates thirsting for blood. he was quickly executed by his inumerable foes. Casualty #3. And this left Eagle. Slowly but surely he cruised through b8 unscathed. He was heading for Ukari when sudenly ovewr the genral comm this question was raised "Are there any racers left?". And so he was discovered. The pirate Gavan, who had helped chase the leaders before, met Eagle in Ukari. The gap between levels and skills was too great and his battery too slow, and thus he was eliminated. Casualty #4.
And thus the deadliest CSR had ended (And the deadliest race weeekend begin!)
Don';t forget to tip your pirates. remember, pirates can be mercenaries too.

If I could be in-game, I'd give those pirates a piece of my mind! Sadly, as I has stated many times, I cannot at the present time, and I shall be content insulting the Pirate Racing Commitee.
