Each winner of round 1 will have 1 million. (Their 500 K + the loser's 500 K)
8 --> 4
The winners of round 2 will have 2 million. (Their 1 mil + the loser's 1 mil)
4 --> 2
The winners of round 3 will have 4 million. (Their 2 mil + the loser's 2 mil)
2 --> 1
The overall winner takes the 2nd place guy's money for the 8 million total, and is then redistributed. (Their 4 mil + the loser's 4 mil)

No smit, if you lose win the first time, the loser passes their money to you. If you then lose the second time, you pass their money and yours to the winner.

Actually, it won't work quite like that, this is a double knockout tourney. They second round is gonna have just as many pilots as the first. So some people might hand over 1 mill, some might hand over 500k, and some might hand over none (in the second round).
Either way, it still all works out in the end: 8 Million in my Rev C's glove compartment!

And double-elimination means if I go 1-1 against nerde, and move on, but lose one more, I'm out, right?

I'm also not clear on the double elimination. In my & Maso's fights, I won both, is that one or two eliminations for Maso? But Maso seems to be leaving VO, and isn't too keen on finishing the tourney...
