well, so much for that great plan...

my good computer appears to have suffered a massive failure in the on-board features department.. on board sound, video (which i didnt use anyway) and more importantly, the built in network card (which i DO use to get to my DSL router) are all non-functional. I dont have a spare card lying around so i cant get to the internet on it.

sigh.. the comp i'm on now has VO installed but the control setup is sub-par due to minimal desk space, and the machine is getting ancient. (its a P2 800mhz) so i might log on and say hi, but dont expect a lot of fighting out of me.
