I've been AWOL so I can neither confirm or deny anything that has happened since we captured SkyCommand last Friday, after the FUBAR invasion led by the heroic Serco General, Cunjo. <snickers>

I was the last to leave SkyCommand, after it was apparent that no one was coming to play.

And, well, it wasn't forged, man. Ask Kobe. He witnessed it. Heh. I allowed Nautargos to "kick" me out since it was becoming boring, and SkyCommand has a crappy bar anyway. Well, we smashed it up before we left, but it was crappy BEFORE we tossed it, too.

I suppose they changed the name to assert how they are 'not pirates'. lol.

Um, Lecter, you can thank Mecha Touriuas for that. The guild is finally becoming what it was meant to be and there is very little you can do to stop it. Also, the logic behind the name change was that the name was drawing the wrong crowd to the guild. Maybe you should consider trying to join SYN? I'm sure they need another pirate, so you should fit right in.

So:
1) It was a name change decided by the SCAR council

2) It is not "Sky Command Assault Retards" But instead "SkyCommand Assault Regiment"

3) You misspelled SkyCommand, it's only one word

Thanks Freedombird, thats pretty much what I was going to say. As you (hopefully) know Doc, we've always wanted to change the name around more or less from day one. We've finally gotten around to a majority vote of yes for the afformentioned name.

Like mentioned above as well, our name was attracting the wrong crowd, leading to our dark reputation. It was always solid Ote and my minds that we'd be more militaristic, and not just another countless, boring, pirate guild to reek countless, pointless, havoc on a universe that is more or less pirates anyways. As far as I see, in the early days when Ote, Blood_Wraith and I were deciding a name, they chose "Serco Cadre of Armed Renegades" from a random acroynm generator they used and thought it sounded smart. Needless to say, 2 outvotes 1.

I've also mentioned many times before, Ote should have been commander, since he basically took my idea and ran with it, without him, we probably would have never formed. But anyway, after creating the guild "Serco Cadre of Armed Renegades" the name continued to attract the wrong crowd. So then we became another boring and mundane, albiet Serco exclusive pirating guild.

With the name change we've gone through a rebirth if you will. I was happy to learn that Cunjo had even put together that activity. I've wanted to take that path from our very start, but with a name like "Cadre of Armed Renegades" it's hard to argue the point that your a ligitimate military guild. Sure Cunjo's first orginization was a faliure, due mainly to two features, huge technical difficulties and lack of orginization, he really only started planning the event a week and a half before it happened. It was still fun to do wasn't it? Besides, it's our plan to come out with more events put together by [SCAR] and/or to participate in. Basically, we're a changed guild from now on. I'm writing out the new guild description for Saturday (with all luck).

We've all talked about this as a guild, and about 90% - 95% like these new ideas. So, we've got a few short term, and many long term plans still in the works, from this point forward, it's only forward for the Serco and [SCAR].

Its gunna take more than a name change to get rid of the stigma attacked to being [SCAR] I mean, being called Serco Cadre of Armed Renegades or Sky Command Assault Retards or whatever doesnt change the fact you all flew round ganking tani's n uits in b8, even while they were in an arranged fight, with swarms, now does it?

[SCAR] are still top of my shitlist, regardless.

Yoda hit it on the head. No amount of new guidelines/descriptions or changed acronyms is going to make us forget the swarming, griefing and gankfests any time soon. However, giving away a million credits or 10 PKS to everyone you wronged could help us forget; otherwise, prepare to be treated with the same scorn as usual.

OOC As much as I agree with Yoda and Jex... I also applaud A-Dawg and the like for taking steps to rectify the situation. SCAR had/has absolutely no respect from the majority of the player base (at least by my last reckoning [it has been some time since I've really been in game]), something I found to be not quite fitting with the largest Serco guild in the game.

Honour, integrity, and skill are attributes that I would expect to heap on a Serco Military guild. Regarding SCAR... Skill: sort of; Integrity: you got me; Honour: rarely.

Once I went to B8, i found Bojan there. He was simply standing still near wormhole...
We started talking, and he said I'm simply too nice to be in SCAR... just because I didn't shot him while he was immobile...
Conclusion 1: reputation's bad. It will take much time to make it better.

Ganking... dammit, if Mogul Velaio shot me a few times while I was fighting another 'tani... 'nuff said.

Hmmm, I always thought SCAR far preferred the fear and loathing to the respect; in fact, it seemed to me that, pardon the expression, they got off on them. Or at least Lecter did.

Obviously, our reputation just can't change over night, every new member is warned about our repuation - some join and stay proud (like Mike) and some leave when the slander gets to hot. Like I said, it's quite obvious it's not going to change overnight, thats why we're planning out more universe wide events at the moment (like maybe a more succsessful attack on Itani space once again). Fixing our reputation, as much as we'd like it to be, cannot be a short term goal, it has to be taken in steps.
