I disagree with the UiT having armies out of how did you put it? "Because they have to, not because they want to." It's well known that money is power and power many times must be expressed with physical might, thus for one to truly be powerful as one with money must be a military would be needed, other wise how would that one keep their power?

Also lets face it when you get right down to it wars are great for the economy, at least those of neural or winning parties, wars make jobs, boost production, and create a will for people to work, a reason if you will. Also during war time scientific research is heavily funded by the governments to give them self's an edge over their enemies resulting in benefits for both military and civilian application. I could go on but I believe my point is made there is profit to be made in war some thing the Union has made quite obvious, but at the same time it shoots your claims that they are forced to have a military to hell. They need a military for the environment in which they profit from, a cost of doing business if you will.

Lets face is the war has been very good to the UiT, why would they want to do any thing but help it stay alive and well?

Just wanted to point that out.

Oh yeah, war has been very good to us, but as neutrals, we should be selling those ships, not using them to defend ourselves. A spacefleet consumes credits, resources and manpower; ideally, it should be the other two guys duking it out while we just stand to a side hand them, from time to time, weapons of ever-increasing power, like in some Looney Tunes cartoons. When it was just ourselves, it was good to have Corvus raise some Hell so ships could be sold and the economy moved along; also the Corp Wars were great moneymakers (evne among ourselves) until TPG stepped in and ruined the fun for all.

But now in addition to Corvus marauders and the Hive, we have to deal with Serco and Itani disrupting trade, so we have to use our merchandise to defend ourselves, and thus our wares are not being used for profit, as they should.

You are describing police forces. Those are not to be imxed up with the military, unless you are against the separation of armed forces within one nation (which is folly, for it decreases the control).

I'm sure that, since the UIT is a conglomerate, a standing army like the Itani or Serco have is not in existance, but there certainly are scenarios and short-term war resources.

And, if I forgot to mention it, I'm Serco with all my heart (which is artificial).

So your love is artificial too? Figures.

Plus, each Corp polices itself, while TPG (now) polices them all too, under "surveillance" from the Senate. In effect, it's as lawless as always as long as capships are not deployed against one another.

As I said the cost of doing business, you've only proved my point. If there was no war your militaries would not be need so you say, but then your profit would be gone.

So who told you I was disagreeing with you?

Man, but that ego of yours sometimes makes you act SO stupid...
