Due to new changes to the Hive and such, I give you the new Flag Raid:

Flag Raid

System: Odia
Station: Corvus Hold, Odia M-14
Flag Widget: 1cu of Random item that takes 3+ cus of space

NOTE: Any ship and any weapon is allowed. Also, the only other rules at the moment are:

Rules:

1) No leaving the Odia M-14 sector
2) No attempting to imitate the Flag widget with a different item.
3) ANY firing in Odia M-14 before or after ANY round (but not during) counts as disqualification. If a referee gets hit, or worse blown up, the offending pilot is out. This includes deploying mines between rounds.

Participating pilots are split into two teams by the judges, depending on nationality, faction standings and amount of available pilots. The teams meet up outside the station, within a reasonable distance of it. The Flag is dropped in the ice cluster. Once the judge calls Go, the event begins. The objective is for a team to work together to grab the Flag and dock successfully with it. The team that successfully does so earns a point. To confirm that the pilot did indeed dock with the Flag, the pilot will undock on the Judge's call and drop the Flag. Any other result then an un-interfered good drop punishes the offending team with a negative point. The best score out of five rounds wins.

Prizes: 100,000 credits and a determined amount of items, depending on the item per pilot on the winning team or a flat 200,000 credits. 100,000 credits to each pilot on the losing team.

Sniper's package - 4 Advanced Railguns and a Ultra Charge Battery
Miner's package - 2 Advanced Mineral Scanners and 4 High Density Beams
Positron Package - 4 Axia Accelerated Positron Blasters and 2 Mega Positron Blasters
Mech Package - 4 Repair Module Mk2s and a Ultra Charge Battery
Battery/Equipment Package - 2 Batteries of your choosing and 4 Weapons/Equipment items
Equipment/Weapons Package - 6 weapons/equipment items of your choice

Of course by tonight, I meant tonight. Saturday at 9pm EST (1am Sunday GMT).

Think the devs could make a one of a kind widget for the event? They've made them in the past, and this event looks like it'll continue going for a while. Also, I lost track of the flag from all of the item drops from exploding ships si I focused my efforts on chasing the other team trying to shoot them.

Problem with that FB is theivery. Yes, it's been talked about before but the guide knew some people wouldn't be so nice and give it back.

Mick scored. Then Blue Streak scored, twice. First time I almost docked but got blown up a mere meter or so from the dock. Strike forces were about, scrap metal everywhere and my assailant had died. So I undocked as quickly as I could and, remembering where the flag was dropped, scoop ed it up to dock. Second time I went past the station and curved around, putting it between me and Surbius, in his nice Rag with rails and swarms. Curving into the dock like one needs to in a hot finish line sometimes, I docked safely for score number two. Next, Screwball scored. This was the most exciting round, in my opinion. I had grabbed the Flag but came under heavy fire. I decided to fire back in the No Fire Zone. Bad idea when I had the Flag. So I had the Yellow Dogs AND the Strike Forces after me and I couldn't dock for the score. So I kept running in circles, avoiding them as best as I could while Omega set up to grab the Flag as I would drop it. First time we messed up but I luckily got the Flag again. Second time, we successfully transferred, but Omega got shot down and the Flag stolen by Screwball. FInal round was a lot of me flying around the station with the Flag, waiting for an opening so I could rush to the dock. And I did. And Team Omega won :D
