53rd Nation War

Feb 11, 2007 slime73 link
RULES

1) A participant can use any equipment they wish except for Locust swarm missiles, Chaos Swarm missiles, and Lightning Mines. All ships are allowed.

2) No running for obcene distances. This is subjective, but honestly.. I'll call it if you go out beyond 3,000 meters of anyone. This rule is flexible and bendable, but do not abuse it.
Better guide, don't go outside of the asteroid field.

3) Once you are dead, you are out. You may return to watch in an EC class ship, but must announce this over sector comm.

4) Once you leave the sector you are out. This means no repairing at a station, no reloading and no jumping out to jump back in when your team wins.

5) The prize is two million credits, split among the qualifying survivors ONLY! If you have broken a rule above but have survived, don't expect to get credits.

6) The Nation War event will be held at Sedina D-2, at the time of 21:00 GMT on Sundays between three teams, each team representing a nation (that's 3:00 p.m. forum time). Please try to be at least 10 minutes early.

7) Things may change due to unavoidable circumstances. Always follow the instructions of Omega 0.

8) If a participant is hated by their own nation, they have may go on any of the teams (including their nation's team) so long as they are A) Liked by that nation (Ignore if you join your own nation's team) and B) Announce it beforehand, to myself and/or the participants. This keeps everyone in the know.

9) No interfering with playability in the War sector. this includes (but is not limited to) cargo drops.

Because a UIT decided to go ignore rule #2 and was disqualified but came back and backstabbed the remaining Itani, there were no winners for this War.

aVirulence left the asteroid field. Spidey stayed inside but never left his turbo key that I could see. I'm sure some of ours did too, but I wasn't targeting my own. The shoe fits a lot of people.

-Everson

Edit: None of these statements are meant to be personal. Neither of the players I named strike me as dishonorable or even irritating. They are merely examples I saw.

I don't want a flamewar please.
It's OK if you stay within the general area of the roid field, but the UIT in question clearly left the area of the asteroids, and even came back AFTER I clearly stated that he was disqualified.

I was never 3000m away, I wasn't running, I turbo-ed away after someone shot gems and I followed Cunjo when he was chasing Firsm.

So, Fuck you.

[edit: that was for Everson]

Note also, that since Omega 0 is the one who calls people on rule 2, he is apparently exempt from rule 2 himself.

EDIT: No more 20-kilometer roid fields. That was rediculous.

Did I violate rule #2? No, i was pretty far from the UIT in question (not within weapons range or I would have shot him). I followed him until i noticed that he wasnt going to stay in the roidfield, turned back, and saw that the roids were pretty close to me. The UIT in question kept on going for a little bit, however.

EDIT: the roid field has worked for about a year, why are you complaining now?

Having not been in the war, my opinion could be one of two things: unbiased or utterly worthless... or both.

Having said that, it seems that one issue could be the fact that we can't specifically define borders. People who leave the roid field might not have intended to do so. Perhaps what we need is a more dense/confined roid field for the war so that people can clearly see when they are leaving the specified battle area.

That's what you get when the judge is also a player.

The other two remaining UITs who could have destroyed "the remaining Itani" of course didn't count, because "the remaining Itani" is at once one of the involved sides AND the referee.

Congrats.

They could have destroyed me, but a player who wasn't participating in the War at the time (disqualified) destroyed me, so he ruined the whole thing.

UIT won fairly end of story.

oh btw we also won the second war, so thats 2 UIT victory for us

I have no idea what happened at the end , I was chasing omega , ran out of battery then saw him boom in the distance .

More importantly , look at the player list , 30 + folk , great serco turnout , and a superb introduction to pvp mayhem for all the new pilots who participated .

Once again, thanks to Omega for running the event.
