RULES

1) A participant can use any equipment they wish except for Locust swarm missiles, Chaos Swarm missiles, and Lightning Mines. All ships are allowed.

2) No running for obcene distances. This is subjective, but honestly.. I'll call it if you go out beyond 3,000 meters of anyone. This rule is flexible and bendable, but do not abuse it.
Better guide, don't go outside of the asteroid field.

3) Once you are dead, you are out. You may return to watch in an EC class ship, but must announce this over sector comm.

4) Once you leave the sector you are out. This means no repairing at a station, no reloading and no jumping out to jump back in when your team wins.

5) The prize is two million credits, split among the qualifying survivors ONLY! If you have broken a rule above but have survived, don't expect to get credits.

6) The Nation War event will be held at Sedina D-2, at the time of 20:00 GMT on Sundays between three teams, each team representing a nation (that's 3:00 p.m. forum time). Please try to be at least 10 minutes early.

7) Things may change due to unavoidable circumstances. Always follow the instructions of Omega 0.

8) If a participant is hated by their own nation, they have may go on any of the teams (including their nation's team) so long as they are A) Liked by that nation (Ignore if you join your own nation's team) and B) Announce it beforehand, to myself and/or the participants. This keeps everyone in the know.

9) No interfering with playability in the War sector. this includes (but is not limited to) cargo drops.

Serco win again.

Roda Slane (whoever he was fighting for) disqualified for not being visible in the area, and Lord Spidey (the last remaining Itani) fled the battle, giving us another near-lossless victory.

Video available again once I finish converting it to a desireable format and uploading.

The teams:

Serco:
Cunjo SCP
TheBlackFlag SCP
Greben Vulture
Mondoshawan Warthog MkIV
toshiro Corvus Vulturius
Polpot SVG
Everson SVG
AgY Prom2
Marcus Grey Vulture MkIII
Nautargos SCP
Raven Borne Vulture
MysticRogue Corvus Maud
Shedu SCP
-Cobra- SVG
kalb SCP
yoda Warthog MkIV

Itani:
Omega 0 IDFVV
Morgan West IDFVV
drazed X-1
Edari SCP
Jack Scream Warthog MkIV
GRAIG daOne IDFVV
lord spidey X-1

UIT:
Ecka Estenk Corvus Vulturius
Katrina Le-Feir Orion Centurion
YellowRoze Warthog TD

I must admit I am distraught even in the midst of Serco victory. Mystic was shot down. No matter how long you've been flying, it always gets to you when one of the ladies explodes. She ejected just fine, but that doesn't make me feel any better about it.

My ship didn't even take damage, and that makes it worse.

14 vs 7 vs 3

What was that sad joke about lack of playing Sercos again?
Mar 25, 2007 LeChatlier link
Ouch. I pity the itani who had to fly into that kind of firestorm...

Where were the Serco here?!! http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/7/15179#191170
:P
Good fights all, I guess...

The "we need more serco" was just a whining cry. Every nation fluctuates in membership, as do guilds. The Serco fluctuate more than most and they have sane people who come on only during US Primetime (mostly).

So next time you see 1 serco on at 1am and 12 itani, don't say "We need more serco", say "WTF are those guys doing up!?".

This game needs Europeans

This is everything we've known and been saying. Due to several factors, not the least of which is the nation selection writeup, the people who choose Serco are aggressive as heck. I haven't met one who didn't jump at the chance to come to the war.

Conversely, how many UIT or Itani show? They had their usual superior numbers online when the war took place today, but only 10 came to fight our 16.

In the lack of a reason to get online, many Serco do not. The nation war is that reason to log on. The daily fights, outnumbered by Itani, are not a reason to show up. Not for anyone inexperienced, anyways. Look at who does seek such fights during the weekdays.. Ghost, Mecha, myself. How many others can you name who crave conflict when outnumbered, enough to switch sides toward that end?

That said, we had 5 pirates join us. Had they fought UIT instead, it would have been a more reasonable 11v7v8.

Awwww,wtf?! 3?!

I'm firing my back-up advertising company.

Some players just like safe bets and easy wins so they change sides according to who has the best chance to win NW.
Player list from this latest NW is a fine example.
Mar 26, 2007 Syylk link
Yeah, my bad.

Didn't know that Incarnate added the "pirate nation" saturday, so there are actually four nations fighting in the nation war, and not the three I started this game with.</sarcasm>

You can call yourself a "pirate" till you're blue in the face. You're born either an Itani, a Serco, or an UIT. No amount of standings tanking will change your callsign from a real nation to "Unaligned".

But, as Bojan said, some cojones-less pilots just want the easy win. Dying by the hands of an old miner and his two n00b wings is only greater justice.

Kudos to the truly committed Sercos, however. Their victory deserves respect.

Syylk,

I know how you feel. Pretty exactly, too. Serco were usually outnumbered during CTF times, and oftentimes heavily so.

The best course of action to deal with this is to wait until you have better odds at winning and rejoice even more then. Complaining about it doesn't usually bring any better circumstances about (I speak from first-hand experience :)

If this happens again- sorry guys we still love ya- I'll just exile the pirates from our side to make it fair.

There I am in Cunjo's vid, a lonely red SVG in a furball of proms around I think spidey. Cunjo had a good shot at my top profile, I'm glad he wasn't shooting at me.
Mar 26, 2007 Cunjo link
In all fairness, TBF would have been playing as Serco, but he didn't want to try and race all the way down from Geira before we started.

I'm all for allowing a fourth pirate group to participate if that's what they want.
Mar 26, 2007 csgno1 link
That fourth group might be the best solution since the some UIT pirates don't seem to want to fight for the UIT. Nice video btw.

I turned up, I saw, I got my ass kicked, if the UiT decided to actually target decent fighters rather than a rusty yoda, they might stand a chance each week :P
Mar 26, 2007 ufoman link
I guess it's yer callsign they target.
Mar 26, 2007 ThinkHen link
Heh, I had four tani PKs in that war, and not one of them is actually seen. Oh well, I'm in the video at least.
