Something has come up and the Run is not likely to be run by myself or Joyce. If anyone else can, please feel free to run the race and contact us for prize reimbursement.
Since nobody from the SSC/CDC/TGFT guilds was able to host tonight run, I took the liberty to host it. I paid all the prizes out of my pocket, but the run has been announced as sponsored by CDC, SSC and TGFT.
The Racers:
Foo Fighter, itani, first time runner, and [ITAN] member.
Jestatis Bess, itani, veteran commander of [ONE1]; his career is at the beginning, but he knows how to fly fast.
Morgan West, itani, representing [SKV]; a veteran in game, but his first race.
Raze Aretou, serco, from [PA]. Two third places for the pilot with a thing for knitting.
Results:
Morgan West | 37:58 | Orion Hornet Convoy Guardian, FC, No Weps
Foo Fighter | 41:51 | Warthog MkII, FC, Neut MkIII + Megaposi
Raze Aretou | 43:27 | Warthog MkII, UC, No Weps
Jestatis Bess | DNF | Warthog MkII, FC, No Weps
Notes:
1) Very slow run. Lots of storms, no scouting, and some questionable ship/equip choices slowed down our racers.
2) The only race in a long time without UIT pilots. Strike Forces in Serco space were particularly busy running after the three itanis.
3) Jestatis Bess fell to one of the most annoying glitches of the game: recently, accessing sectors takes a lot of time, and when he was done with loading, the seekers that were after him already destroyed his ship. I dearly hope the devs would address this inconvenience, or we will keep losing pilots to such unpredictable events.
4) No reported pirate activity, but lots of unrats annoying our contenders in the last leg of the run.
5) Teutonic Crusader was tempted to participate, but made up his mind too late, when the racers were already in serco space. Next time, better reserve some time for the DR in advance, Teutonic.
6) The run was plagued with a serious group bug problem: from time to time, my group would disappear on its own, without any apparent reason; I had to re-create and re-invite all the racers for a dozen times during the entire event.
7) I could have easily won this one! ;)
Next week's race will be in the EARLY slot.

Kat, if you can get ingame sometime tomorrow I'll be able to get you the sponsorship money from Sigma's end.
(I had a baseball game to help broadcast today and couldn't be around for the race.)

Thanks, I'll try to be around. Eventually for the NW.
I could have been a contender :(
Its so fustrating when you see yourself on the other side of a jump and frozen. Took about 20 secs to load the screen. I couldn't run i was just dead. SF and seekers should get the same lag :(
