A call to all pirates and wanna be pirates.
Seems some miners think its funny to mine in the *unusually devoid of hive* sectors in grey space. Mainly Odia and Latos, but some in Sedina also, I urge all pilots to patrol these systems asteroid sectors, cos we can find AFK miners here.
P.S.
Yarrr!

Mmmm, AFK minery goodness. Yum!
Well, there's nothing quite like killing an AFK miner, knowing that the individual will return to their computer, expecting to see a hull full of heliocene and open sky, when in fact they are greeted with the station interface and the "Buy last ship?" screen.
Of course then they scroll, scroll, scroll up to see who killed them, but it's usually too late at that point, so they quit and have to peruse the logs to discover the identity of their assassin.
I may be anti-pirate, but I'm certainly pro killing-AFK-miners.

how/where can you see the logs?
For Windows and Linux users, search for the file errors.log in the Vendetta directory. For Mac OSX users, right-click (or option-click if you're still using a one-button mouse) on the Vendetta application bundle, and select Show Package Contents. The errors.log file should be inside the window that appears.

This is no longer necessary. If you check your sensor logs you can always see who killed you last, as long as you haven't logged off since they did it ;)

IC wise, my main doesn't shoot AFK miners. She just reports them to the nearest available pirate/baddie. My alts have no similar qualms.
Death to AFK miners!
Death to AFK miners!
*Sniff...............memories.
I'd warmly recommend flares against afk miners. If they're lucky enough, they will hear them when they are in the toilets.
LOL. That's a funny mental picture, Sun.
Sound from the computer: "whooosh! BOOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOOM!"
Sound from the bathroom: "Noooooooooooooo!"
Oh, and Mystic, I'm not THAT Anti-Pirate... >:)

Aye sun, i usually hit em with flares or jacks, once i realise they are AFK i take em down like a queen, ie boost fire em from 1500m, so all the rocks hit at the same time :D

Use Conc mines to slam them into the roid after neutroning 90% of their hull away, then it just shows that they killed themself.
