No, Toshiro, ITG could repay all investors if there was a run on the bank. Historically, however, you will note that bank runs seldom work to the benefit of the investor or the bank. We continue to offer one of the few investment opportunities in VO space that doesn't involve doing the work yourself.
Jul 18, 2007 JestatisBess link
CranstonGorky: I like you but you are wrong. If there was a run on the back right now. Could ITG pay back, with appropriate interest, all current investors right now? If so why did it take more then 6 weeks to pay me back.

I do like you Cranston Gorky, but i think the over all business model for ITG, even the new one doesn't work. You might be the only investment in game right now but how long must ppl wait for that investment? ITG has been just about absent for he last 2-3 weeks.

Once you get the business up and running, reliably, i would be glad to reinvest at that time. But until then i don't trust ITG, with plenty of good reason.

for what many paid 500k a share for is now only worth 30k a share at best. If there was a stock chart it would show a quick downward slope...

Personally, I liked the "We haul for you" concept more. It's tangible, it's immediate and the buyer gets the faction bonus. But not enough people in VO to sustain that. Or investment firms. Or profitable banks.

Caveat Emptor
I stayed away, because I avoid pyramid schemes / confidence tricks.
There is no federal government to enforce your property rights;
There is no transparency to your investment funds, how they are used, if they are properly managed, and how much they are worth;
There is no liquidity in the investment;
You have no recourse to any regulator.

If you can earn the money yourselves (and the faction++), If earning loads money in VO is a piece of cake (VO just prints money like confetti); then why punt on some other entity to do it for you? You can't do it right yourselves? You think they can do it better? you trust them?

One of the basic problems with an investment firm in vo, is that the most profitable things in vo do not require great sums of credit, and thus can be done without major investment. Since you don't need investments to make the best profit, then motives for seeking investments are suspect.
Jul 23, 2007 CranstonGorky link
ITG's chief goal in securing investors involves looking towards the future of VO. Private/Guild stations are an item of the future and we want to be a part of that. Investors will be given appropriate opportunities to join us in that future.
Jul 23, 2007 Confessor link
We are still a very small guild in terms of membership but thanks to the persistance of our current Lt. of Commerce CranstonGorky we are building our support numbers and should start makeing a significant difference in our ability to more easily keep our investors happy.

Seeking investments based on predictions of the future is called speculation (at best), and simply makes any request for investments all that more suspect. The only sound time to ask for investments is when you can show how you can (currently) make more profit with the investment that without. All other explanations are scams. A newb can justify borrowing up to about 2 or 3 mil. but thats all it takes to make the most profit. anyone that offers returns on more than 3 mil, is offering a losing proposition. the only question is, who will do the losing. is the firm going to suffer those loses from it's own pocket? and if so, why? I bet that a complete audit would show that this firm has already incurred more debt than profit. It would not be able to pay all it's currently owed dividends, and return the original investments, at the same time. A majority of dividends being paid, are being paid out of the original principle, which is even now dwindling, until it has been paid out completely in dividends, leaving nothing to repay the original investment, or any more dividends. This firm is a dead end, but has collected enuf suckers to stall that dead end by who know how long.

I hate to say this but Roda might be right. Consider the situation with me. It took over 6 weeks to pay me. And when i did get paid i wasn't paid any interest for the 6 week delay. And i think i was the last one on the old plan. ITG goes away for weeks then come back with your "profit". I don't think they have enough people or resources to truly make this work. I think the dividends have to be paid out of the original investment or their own "private" money.

If TGFT was offering this service i would say yes go for it. But ITG is too unorganized and frankly they aren't in game enough to make this work.

Anyone who is using their service please comment here.
Jul 23, 2007 MSKanaka link
Well, apparently I bought a share back when they started the service, because I completely forgot about it and was contacted by Cranston today so that he could give me the dividends owed.

26k isn't that much, but the fact that Cranston went out of his way to find me and give it to me meant a lot. I agree that while the idea behind ITG is a good one, unfortunately, right now the game doesn't need it (the service) as much.

However, the effort Cranston is putting into the job is commendable. It takes guts to stick with the job despite all the flak ITG is getting. At least give the guy some respect for that.
Jul 23, 2007 Confessor link
Thank you for your kind words about ITG MSKanaka. Yes Cranston is trying to do alot to keep the guild in the good graces of its investors through makeing the dividend payments and also through active recruiting. It is people like yourself who have good things to say about us that will keep us doing what we are doing. And from a fellow ITG member "keep up the good work Cranston I'll see you ingame"

Cranston is great. He is the best thing about ITG.
Jul 24, 2007 Roda Slane link
I have no interest for or against ITG. I would like to see sound businesses established. I bet you any of the major trading guilds could provide satisfactory answers to a relevant audit. Until ITG can provide evidence that it has maintained the necessary finicial resources to meet it's responsibilities, I will remain skeptical.
Jul 24, 2007 Confessor link
As well you should Roda and Jes, up to this point in time ITG as a guild have been somewhat absent in the most important positions. Cranston is changeing that slowly, with his determination to make good on all debts, and the active recruitment of new members. Our newest member is Will Lung. Just yesterday I saw jar jar ingame for the first time in over a month so ITG is coming back.

actually blackout360 who i believe is an alt of jar jar if i remember correctly announced he was leaving the game...
