Observer:
A fun NW , excellent combat action , the field splitting into two furballs Serco and Itani engaged rapidly , the UIT team engaging targets of opportunity . I saw a lot of good flying from all, before getting involved with a couple of dogfights. Good fighing from all teams , but the 6 remaining UIT won out .
The six surviving UIT, Mick, Impavid, Strat, Maalik +C. Kat and myself split the 5 million cr Prize , sponsored jointly by TGFT , Yoda and Cunjo.
My Thanks to all the newer players that joined in , practice and kill me next time ;-)
May I ask all players to stay close to their nation group and remain relatively stationary at the start , makes it easier for me to record names .
The wins:
hmm, need to dig in the thread and work it out ....
Same time same place next week

I don't get why Serco and Itani should not all attack UiT first! For roid hugging hippies, yer a bit violent these days...
...Anyways, this is a nation war and UiT ain't no nation, hows about we make em pay for fuelling this war? I beg of you Itani nation, if like me you want to survive in these games, take out the UiT first.
Oh yah, and if I'm going to bother showing up at another war (prolly, kinda fun) I'm a have to help team Serco, just always was an under-dog.

I can;t speak for the entire Itani nation. I just speak for me. I wholeheartedly agree with you Yoda. I think we should attack the UIT first, then fight it our between itani and serco. Now the itani and serco fight it out and the UIT come in to pick up the pieces.
In the last war the itani stayed stationary and waited to be attacked. Surprisingly (sarcastic) the Serco came straight for us first!

Yes! The Itani and Serco should unite against the UIT! I always knew that's where this game was headed!
/me pictures Itani and Serco holding hands, frolicing in a meadow.

FatStrat85 thats a little to far :)
And they'll never see it coming! Okay, nobody post this on the public forums. We'll surprise them next sunday.
I should mention that in Wensdays NW we actually did attack the UIT :) This time the Itani waited and the Serco charged right into us. (considering that they were told to move back before the battle it wasn't a huge surprise but hey)
Anyway I feel proud that I cost someone some ammo this time at least :D

Strategically, it's obvious that in an odd sided battle, the n-th side that manage to wait for the (n-1)/2 pairs to annihilate each other has an upper hand. This is hardly news.
Tactically, it depends a lot also on the ships involved. Proms are rather stationary, rotating agt turrets, usually at the core of the furball, while the zipping valks can basically reach every corner of the roid field in a short time. This might lead to practical difficulties in joining forces to wipe the mix/match UIT forces (corvults and revc's light dancers).
Well, feel free to try. The NW was fun (thanks Ecka), and hectic (I survived, incredibly), so slight storyboard variations can't be but good.
And, yoda, UIT *IS* a nation, at least according to Vendetta terminology: http://www.vendetta-online.com/manual/cha_create.html (read right under the picture).

Backstory holds more water:
AD3692, Terra II
Preparations have been made, and the Neutrals begin to leave Terra II en masse. Their population is not large, not nearly the scale of the Serco Nation or the Itani at their height, but the undertaking is still quite massive. Its execution requires the Neutrals to form a somewhat more cohesive government, mostly composed of a Senate populated with the former town mayors, along with representatives of the major corporations. Most important of these corporations is TPG Corp, now the large and powerful manufacturer of spacecraft. This new, more organized conglomeration of settlers and corporations is named the Union of Independent Territories. The UIT is born.
The people are understandably bitter about abandoning their towns, homes, and lives. While their imaginations may be captivated by the ever-present unknowns of space, most of them were happy living in their small towns and villages, with little desire to brave the starlit voids themselves. Generations upon generations have lived in those towns, dating back to the early domes of earth colonization. However, the people are happy to be free of the ever-present fright of the marauding Serco, and many look forward to the prospect of starting a new home on a distant planet of their own. It is not widely publicized that no such suitable planet has been found, even after the considerable exploration of the last few hundred years. For the moment, the UIT government and corporations concentrate on expanding their network of stations and rocky outposts to meet the needs of their population.
As a final commentary on the perspective of the Serco as the only inhabitants of Terra II, they decide to rename the planet “Serco Prime” in honor of their nation. The UIT sees this as added reason to vacate the planet as soon as possible.
UiT are just a bunch of ninnys. Nothing more, nothing less.
