Deneb Run #111
The CDC, SSC and TGFT are proud to bring you The Deneb Run this weekend.
*** The TIME will be 9pm Eastern Daylight Time, 6pm Pacific, 1am Sunday GMT (Or 01:00) ***
*** More sponsors means more prize money! (see below) ***
*** Please take note of the two new/modified rules! ***
The race progress announcements will be announced on Channel 500
Listen to racing music on Radio TGFT at: http://www.live365.com/stations/dj_screwball
All citizens are welcome to race, there is no entrance fee, and 6 Million credits in prizes are available. Some of it could be yours!
Once again, the rules are:
1) Racers must race from Odia M14 through Deneb heading clockwise back to Odia M14.
2) Race starts in Odia M14 near the station.
3) Contestants must be within 100m of me before the start
4) No shooting before the race starts.
- Depending on the severity of the infraction, and at the host's (or hosts') discretion, violation of this rule can result in not only a disqualification for the current race, but also a ban from winning prize money as either a racer or an anti-racer in future Deneb Runs. (new rule extension)
5) You die and you're out (so no /exploding)
6) All weapons and ships allowed, except those listed in #10.
7) First person to get back and dock at Odia M14 wins the first prize. (3 million credits)
8) Second person back gets 2nd place prize (2 million credits)
9) Third person back gets 3rd place prize (1 million credits)
10 Valkyrie ships are not allowed.
11) Attempting to trigger a false start of the race is grounds for disqualification.
12) Money for killing other racers: Any pilot, racing or not, is eligible to earn money as follows:
Pre-condition #1: There must be at least 3 racers
Pre-condition #2: Less than 3 racers complete The Deneb Run
If the above pre-conditions are met, the undistributed prize money will be awarded to those who killed the racers as follows:
- Kills in the Odia M-14 sector are not eligible
- The most recent eligible kill earns the highest unawarded prize money (3 mil, 2 mil, 1 mil, or 0)
- The 2nd most recent eligible kill earns the 2nd highest unawarded prize money (2 mil, 1 mil, or 0)
- The 3rd most recent eligible kill earns the 3rd highest unawarded prize money (1 mil or 0)
13) There is a maximum eight-racer limit (seven if there is only one MC), or four racers per group. This is to allow the MCs to actually be able to MC the race and keep track of all the racers. Spots are first-come, first-served, with a priority on those who post to this thread. The group sizes may be increased if the MCs can handle it and there is enough interest on a given week. (new rule)
Please reply to this thread if you intend to race.

Awww, bigger races are better! You guys are all sharp. I'm sure you can handle 7 racers per MC. Besides, if we had fewer last time the pirates would've won!
I want to race :)
I will plan to race.

I plan to race as Istamir Sol
I would like to race! :'(
==The Racers==
Istamir Sol - Itani pilot. He's been racing a bunch recently, and he has consistently done well.
Spaceranger - Union member of TGFT. He used to race a bunch several months back, and has started up again.
Jestatis Bess - Itani, Commander of ONE1. He races frequently, but not always.
Cranston Gorky - Union pilot. He has raced a few times before.
Rodana-Do Yoman - Union council member of MFA. This was his first race, I think.
Jaxzz - Itani pilot. This was his first race.
==The Results==
Cranston Gorky | 27:53 | Warthog MkII, FC, 1x Geminis.
Istamir Sol | 28:05 | Orion Hornet Convoy Guardian, FC, no weapons.
Spaceranger | 29:34 | Orion Hornet Convoy Guardian, FC, no weapons.
Jestatis Bess | 33:57 | Orion Hornet Convoy Guardian, FC, no weapons.
Rodana-Do Yoman | 35:45 | Warthog MkII, FC, 1x Megapositron.
Jaxzz | 37:05 | Warthog MkIV, FC, no weapons.
==Observations==
1. Circuit times are starting to become much smaller on average. It doesn't appear to be long before the current record of 26:36 is broken!
2. Sora1373 became irritated when, after failing to both register with the MCs either on the forums or ingame, the race began "without him". Vowing revenge, Sora decided to camp M-14 and the Bractus B-14 wormhole. Mecha Touriuas of the Phoenix Alliance repeatedly ground Sora's ship into spacedust, allowing all of the racers to dock safely.
Next week's Run is in the EARLY slot (1600 EDT, 2000 GMT). See you then!

Not like Sora would be any danger >.>
I almost said something to that effect, but decided to be nice about it.
